Change the directory your Jamroom runs in on your server, or changing the domain that your Jamroom runs under is a fairly simple process.

Change Domain Name

• Log in to your Jamroom using FTP, and download the jamroom/config/settings.cfg.php file.

• Using a text editor, modify the downloaded settings.cfg.php file, and change the "jamroom_path" and "jamroom_url" settings to match the proper server path and new Domain (URL) for your server.

• Upload the settings.cfg.php file to your server using FTP, overwriting the existing settings.cfg.php file.

• Log in to your Jamroom as the Master Admin, and make sure the Jamroom Config -> Environment Settings -> Session Domain is set properly to your new domain.

• If you have the Jamroom Power Pack installed, you will next want to update the Jamroom Progress Meter config file with the new settings by going into the Jamroom Tools -> Server Tools -> Integrity Check section and "repairing" the progress meter install.

• Next, reset all Jamroom caches in the Jamroom Tools -> Reset Caches Section.

• Finally, regenerate all of your profiles in the Jamroom Tools -> Profile Regenerator section.  Make sure the "Fast Rebuild" option is NOT checked.

If you have a Jamroom Cluster server installed, you will also need to update the settings.cfg.php file on the cluster, as well as the cluster/config/cluster.cfg.php file (make sure it contains the proper settings to your Master server on the new URL).

That's it - once these steps are complete, you should be running on the new domain.

Change Jamroom Directory Location

• Log in to your Jamroom Server using FTP, and move the files to the new directory location desired.

• Download the jamroom/config/settings.cfg.php file to your local system using FTP.

• Using a text editor, modify the downloaded settings.cfg.php file, and change the "jamroom_path" setting to match the proper server path on your server.

• Upload the settings.cfg.php file to your server using FTP, overwriting the existing settings.cfg.php file.

• If you have the Jamroom Power Pack installed, you will next want to update the Jamroom Progress Meter config file with the new settings by going into the Jamroom Tools -> Server Tools -> Integrity Check section and "repairing" the progress meter install.

• Next, reset all Jamroom caches in the Jamroom Tools -> Reset Caches Section.

• Finally, regenerate all of your profiles in the Jamroom Tools -> Profile Regenerator section.  Make sure the "Fast Rebuild" option is NOT checked.

That's it - your Jamroom will now be running within the new directory on your server.
