There is no config file for the MySQL database in Jamroom - follow this guide if you need to make any changes:

this is what i got tring to change server info with settings.php

Jamroom is going to need mysql running in order to connect to it.

But jamroom does not install mysql onto your server. You need mysql running to run jamroom.

It sounds like your version of mysql is having trouble. Perhaps the people you are renting your server from can help with this if its supposed to be available for you.

On shared hosting you usually cant change the settings of mysql running on the server. If you have a dedicated or a VPS system then you might be able to.
