Hello,
I have a question about site radio in the MediaPro header.

The loaded songs are played and are on without problems.
But no RSS however, works.

Also during interviews and reviews the Feeds do not work. All other Feeds work without problems.
The same problem is by the way on http://mediapro.oinkba.com/.

Do you have a solution?

thx

Thrill

I've had a couple of users mentioning this recently, not sure what the cause is at the moment but I will look into it.

Same with Interviews and Reviews feeds, I'm using the jr_strip_html variable but obviously there's something in the content the RSS feeds don't like, bare with me on this..

Hi Zorag,

do you have a temporal idea approximately till when the problem could be overcome?

I have several customers yours have produced Podcast already and wait for a demonstration.

I will go on with my Site on 01 March.

It is realistic until then?

Thx

Thrill

The only temporary solution would be to disable the feeds, for the radio RSS edit the header_radio.tpl file and place silent tags like this:

Code
{*
<span style="float: right; padding-right: 20px; margin-top: -11px;">
<a href="{$JAMROOM_URL}/index.php?t=podcast">
<img src="{$SKIN_URL}/images/feed_rss_small.gif">
</a>
</span>
*}

For the Interviews/Reviews edit the box_feeds_content.tpl file like this:

Code
{*
<div style="font-size: 11px; padding: 10px;">
    <span class="bullet-1">&bull;</span> <a href="{$JAMROOM_URL}/rss_reviews.php">New Reviews</a><br />
    <span class="bullet-1">&bull;</span> <a href="{$JAMROOM_URL}/rss_interviews.php">New Interviews</a><br />
</div>
*}

All RSS feeds are based on the instructions here: http://www.jamroom.net/Jamroom3_Create_Custom_RSS_Feeds I've had quite a few problems with feeds on many templates mainly because there are stray non HTML characters in use which the average feed reader errors on. I'm using jr_strip_html on the content variables but that doesn't seem to help, any input here from anyone with XML/RSS experience would be appreciated..

Thanks

Hey Huw,

You might take a look at this post

http://www.jamroom.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15176

and see if that helps with your feeds. Kyle, Jill and myself went over this awhile back for podcasts and this is what we come up with.

Hope this helps Smile

Hi Doug

That's exactly what I had for the radio feed but obviously "thrillseeker" above is having issues and I don't know the cause of this, although it's working fine on the demo site and the majority of users installations. Something is not validating somewhere..

To be honest it's the other feeds I'm more concerned about because I've had a few reports of feed errors across all templates over the past few years, these have all been created with the format outlined in the JR docs, it's not 100% valid if there are any stray non XML/RSS characters in users feeds and there isn't a variable to strip these characters out other than jr_strip_html

I was thinking it could be server related at one stage?

Thanks

This is really modest.
I have sold advertising at the Startup to four customers into my Podcast. The audio advertising is displayed as a jingle between the information.
Is there a foreseeable solution or must I break the contract with my customers?

Whats odd is all the feeds work out of the box on this site: www.promofm.com so I'm not really sure what could be wrong.

Maybe try and re-upload the rss templates and .php files? Unless you've already tried that.

Hope this helps Smile

You might look into the "escape" modifier Huw, as I know RSS is SUPER particular about what it accepts/doesn't accept:

All of your feeds worked for me except the Reviews, Interviews and Blog feeds, and I'm not totally sure why, because you have all three of those... I'm a little stumped on this one.

The link you posted worked for me... I was able to click the link and listen to the audio file no problem.
