Module Requires Jamroom 4.2.3

Changes in 1.0.5
1. Fixed bug causing chats to not close out when user has a space in their name.
2. Chat friends list now truncates usernames over 20 characters.

Seamless installation requires updated skins. If your skin doesn't use a js.php and css.php you will need to update your skin to work with Jamroom 4.2.

Example: This would need to be added to your header templates.

User Status and Preferences


Features

Admin
Admin sees all users and is always hidden. This is great for monitoring your site traffic (I personally love it)

Config
Set the chat idle logout time for users who are not chatting or clicking site links.
Offset the message time stamp
Choose a style (1 of 13).
Disable chat

13 Styles
Styles for Flashback, Jukebox, Oinkba skins, Maestro and also compatible with MSkin Looks (MSkin II only). Styles may be edited, deleted or created in the modules/n8AjaxChat/css/ directory.

MSkin Looks Follow
MSkin owners may set the chat skin to "Follow" and either user looks or site looks will be followed.

Sounds
Beep - a new chat message has been sent to you (only plays if site window is not in focus)
Door knock - a new friend has come online.
Door slam - a friend has gone offline.

Emotes
Includes 9 smiley emoticons that are easy to use.

Autolinks
Text containing URLs or email addresses will automatically be made active links.

Sent at
If a chat goes idle for 3 minutes the users will get a "Sent at" notice with a time stamp of the last message sent.

User Status
Users can set their status to available, away, busy or offline. Offline will actually set their user settings to hide online status. Users may also personalize their status with a status message.

User Preferences
Disable sounds
Start incoming chats minimized
Keep friends list open
Hide chat when (0) friends

No Branding
Unlike other chat modules, this one features no branding and it's better integrated into Jamroom.

Plugins
Several plugins are already in development, most will be sold separately. They include 2 players games, a "user help" robot and audio/video chat.

Nate,

I purchased this great module and installed it on my site: http://muzicheadz.com
I am having issues with my Fan/Friends not showing up in the chat module when they are online.
I have changed my Fans to Connects in the Lang files.
I also have several different Quotas added to my system as well.
I am using Jamroom Ver. 4.2.3
I am using the Nova Theme and Skin
Please let me know how I can resolve this issue, so I can provide this to my members.

How have you tested it? Have you had people log in and not see them? Or are you going by jamroom's who's online? because you cannot use that.

None of that would effect the chat module. You will need to be updated to the 4.2.3 version of each theme or skin.

Hi Nate,

I'm just trying to figure out if the N8Chat Module will work with our setup. We have a modified version of ProJam2 and the site is located at www.leggo.fm

If there anything special I should know before purchasing it? I'm assuming it should work just fine, no? Also, if it doesn't are you able to provide installation support?

Just curious. I'm very interested in buying your module but just want to make sure it will work.

As long as your skin is 4.2.3 ready and uses a js.php and css.php it will work, and yes, installation is available.

Just reporting back... We installed the N8Chat Module and it works great. The design is very nice too and we had no problems with the install or during use.
