I have just finished uploading the newest alpha release (5.0.0a2) of Jamroom 5 to the Jamroom Test Releases page:

we've had such an overwhelming number of users ask to be part of the alpha, that I've decided to just open it up to everyone at this point (otherwise I need to send out 50+ individual emails which is a lot of work!).

This latest release cleans up and adds just a ton of stuff:

• New Upload progress meter - see it in action in the Audio Module
  
• All new Form Designer for fully customizing the forms on your site. Right now it is enabled for the audio create/update forms - just make sure and 'view' the forms before using the form designer as at this time the form has to be viewed at least once before it gets loaded into the DB as designer form.
  
• cleaned up master admin control panel - modules are now in "categories" and as you get more the sections will collapse on their own.
  
• New "page jumpers" through all config sections
  
• New "Clone Skin" feature in the core tools (although this is likely to move to dedicated Developer module)
  
• A whole lot more small touches and fixes.
  

Remember this is an alpha release! With this release we get a lot closer to the general beta, which I would say is ~4 weeks out - we've got more core modules we are going to be adding in, and want to have at least a small selection of add-on modules available by the time we enter beta.

Note that in the Form Designer, the 'type' options optionlist, select and select_date are not working yet.

As a 3rd party guy I need to be able to start developing. So far, I've been cautious because I don't wanna have to start over. Do you have an idea on when I need to be ready for full public consumption? Spring? Summer?
