I think its time for a module cat now lol
k on jmchoose if i am using a form field how would i enter this I am having problems having it show up also I am not sure if this is the reason i will probably test this after this message now that I think about it.
I didnt want this Form field to show up in the artist profile page so i put it as admin only and selected artist.
jmChoose($language['jdTest'][5],'test_selectoption','$BAND_SELECTION',$_rep['test_selectoption']);

in the form area of the module what would be the correct way to write this out.

the '$BAND_SELECTION' needs to be an array of data with key => value pairs for the "value" of the option, and the option text. Check out my comment on this page as well - you might be able to reuse a txt file you already have for $BAND_SELECTION:

This is where I am at on this page already it helped me in the input but im it doesnt help to tell me what wach one of those areas actually mean

Sorry for confusing you I am looking for how would i write out the function I guess I want to use a custom form select option but its not working yet if you can show me how that is done and maybe explain the different areas to me

what is the $data for what goes there string selected what goes there
if someone can just break this down as how that this works for me

so i did take out the band_selection and put
'name' but how do i put the form filed in place

Maybe this may be easier to explain it this way

jmInput($language['jrYouTube'][4],'youtube_video_id','text',$_rep['youtube_video_id']);

The first part before the comma I know its going to be my language string
The second part the you tube video id is this where its going to go into the db because the words are in there twice so what is the reason its there twice
Third part text I know this is the type of file its going to be text gives box file gives upload i havent tried the others yet
fourth what is the $_rep for with the second database option

Also if you do a file upload how do you tell where to place the file at
hopefully this helps explain what im looking for better

Actually im thinking select would be better thanks for that and i just noticed your comment on the bottom let me try and work with this and see if i cn get this to work now
