modules menu buttons

I'm beginning the process of understanding this new feature (the Modules in JM4).
One simple question. In the case of the sample youtube module, instead of the link in the Artist cp be on it's own, following the last menu button, can it be placed for example in the extra, tools or Videos sections?
Like after selecting videos, we have "Create" Modify" "Delete" and Arrange", and be added under "Arrange" the "You Tube Videos" button to open the sub menu with the "Create Video",
or instead of having the "You Tube Videos" just have a "Create You Tube Video" under the "Videos" sub menu.
Is this possible just by the artist_jrYouTubeMenu.php ?

Thanks.

The only way I know how to do this is to "override" the videos menu - you would have to have all of the current code that creates the videos menu, and then add the extra youtube code to that. Otherwise it will need to be on its own.

The ability to have a module appear on another menu is something I'm looking into supporting in a future release - I think it is needed as well.

Thanks!

That would be awesome bigguy. I'd hate to start messing up with files that would interfere with future upgrades. And it really is needed!!

Thanks, that way i'll wait for a future release that supports it. Wink

I was thinking the same thing I am hoping that we can have a mdeia button which would save s\pace which would include the dropdown for songs/video and anything media related we want to put in it from the modules. My suggestion for now that is unless someone thought of this then it would be there suggestion

I completely agree that this is needed.

I am finding that the Jamroom module system, as well as being perfect for an entirely new type of item, is also very suited to getting a tiny addon into Jamroom. Something that would have previously been a smarty plugin can work in a more integrated, supportable and sustainable fashion within Jamroom if it is made using the module system.

Allowing an artist to display their twitter tweets and other tweets that they might consider relevant will work very well as a Jamroom module, but doesn't warrant a top level menu item. It needs to be an item under the Tools or an Extras button.

The documentation has been updated with a new page on adding a new item to an existing Jamroom CP Menu:

http://www.jamroom.net/Jamroom_Modules_Control_Panel_Existing_Menu

note that you need to be running Jamroom 4.0.6 to support this.

Hope this helps!
