clicking on that URL just pops up the download "save as" box. save works fine.

Try logging out then logging back in again:
http://www.jamroom.net/index.php?m=td_logout&o=logout

Yup its correct all items as "free" in the marketplace are nerfed.

i just tried i got the same error as well. and i am logged into both.

They're not nerfed. Since only a licensed version of Jamroom 4 can run modules, even "free" modules require that:

- you are logged in to Jamroom.net
- you have registered a valid Jamroom 4 Core license following this guide: http://www.jamroom.net/Jamroom4_HowTo_Download

Let me know if you still se an issue after meeting that criteria - I'm not aware of any issues with it.
