As far as I know ...you do not have to make a new theme. The original Nova theme will work with the customize Nova Skin

If you change the name of your cloned skin to something other than Nova, then you'll need to clone the Nova theme with the same name as your cloned skin.

You can clone the theme in the System Config > Profile Themes section of the control panel.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

I thought it will still work without cloning the theme...
for some strange reason...when I did a cloning...the original theme seem to be working with the clone skin...
maybe I was wrong and when i didnt get no complaints..i just thought it was working Rolling Eyes

sorry about the bad imput Annush Wink

Its a good idea to clone the skin, so that way you dont loose your changes when updates come out.

Like this:
* make some changes to the Nova skin
* new updates to the Nova skin from jamroom
* upload the new Nova skin
= loose all your changes

VS:
* clone the Nova skin, call it Happybear
* make some changes to the Happybear skin
* new updates to the Nova skin from jamroom
* upload the new Nova skin
= Happybear still has all your changes Smile

I cloned both of them - skin and theme, renamed them same name and did the changes. So far everything works ))).

But wnen the updates will come, we will have to do them with new skin as well, i suppose

If course you will need to apply any updates to a custom skin manually. But only changed files are included in the update, so its very easy to see which files the changes are in. Although not as easy as doing a compare files in any decent text editor Wink
