denys:
installed and working
what i want to do is .... {jr_geo_locate} is in my index/overall_header
i want to take the result of this and DISPLAY it in my "who is online" page

can this be done ?

also id like to use geolocate in this panel to ignore crawlers ip so i can actually see "who really is online" lol

The Geo Locate module would not help you there - since all the Geo Locate result will provide is the location of the owner of the IP address for the bot.

Question #1 - Any plans for using this to target advertising for specific locations?
Example - I have 3 different banner ads for gigs in Chicago, LA and Dallas. When a visitor from Chicago visits they see the Chicago banner, when a visitor for LA visits they see the LA banner, etc.

Question #2 - I was looking at the instructions and was thinking of doing something similar for events (code from instructions are below) but I am wondering how the parameters that geoLocate gets from the IP are listed.
Example - If it sees that a user is in "Florida" will it search for "Florida" or "FL" in my search_string? If it searches for events in "Florida" and I have it listed as "Florida: Miami" (in my drop-down when users list an event) will it find it or will the ": Miami" part affect the results?

Thanks! And Happy New Year!!! Very Happy

Code
{jr_ranking mode="artist" search_area="band_location" search_string=$city row_template="jr_ranking_row.tpl" show="5"}

Yes, you could certainly use it to target advertising.

You can set your search to find parts of strings as required using strict_search. Be sure to read the other search parameters as well:

Sorry for the newbie question...learning lots, but can't figure out the mobile templating system! ;-(

You would want to add it to your mobile templates in the /modules/jrMobile/templates/ directory.

Tried that, but couldn't browse to it in my mobile testing app...maybe I'm missing something...

Put it in /public_html/modules/jrMobile/templates (the geo.tpl testing file), but got nothing when I tried to browse that in my iphone emulator...

Sorry...am I being dense? Sad

Thanks for your help!

You need to "call " that template correctly on your mobile device:

yoursite.com/index.php?t=geo&module=jrMobile

Hope this helps!
