I know this should be simple but I've been at this since Christmas eve and the brain is now toast so here goes...

I want to add a new page to my site with links to pdf files I want the user to be able to access.

Page creation is done. pdfs all loaded and done. page linked to menu done. looks great. done. UNTIL you click on a link to view or download one of the pdf's.

ERROR!

the template file "RMW-MONTHLY TOP40-DECEMBER2012.pdf.tpl" does not exist or is not readable from the skins/Cobalt3 directory

So if a guy just wants a page that looks like the rest of his site but doesn't want an extra .tpl extension added to his pdf files...... what do you do differently?

Does my page I created radiocharts.tpl need to be a regular .htm or .html file? I'd love to keep the consistant look of the rest of the theme and I could do this without issue in the old cobalt but not this one...

You would upload the pdfs to the vault, and then your page listing them would be a ranking call in vault mode. Jamroom can handle all the heavy lifting for you.

Not sure why my response disappeared by I'll try again...

I have over 1100 pdfs so I don't think the vault is a workable option unless you can ftp into the vault?

Also I want to have these available for anyone and not just someone with an account or signed in...

All I need is a simple page that I can use to post the links to these files on... can this be done?

what directory are they in at the moment?
How did they get there? (did jamroom upload them or you via FTP?)

You should be able to link directly to a folder, so create a folder on your site, like 'pdf_storage', put the files in that and link to them.

http://yoursite.com/pdf_storage/file1.pdf

Should be able to use that link from anywhere.

I'm not sure how it works with vault files, but jamroom does have ftp import:
