How can I install and test locally with OSX?

you could use 'virtual box'
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

and install 'ubuntu server'
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/server.

(I use ubuntu server 10.04, the Long Term Support version. Works well. )

Even easier, on osx download mamp, xamp or ampps, then add your jamroom site to the www directory.

Hi Steve,

I have Mamp, after coping the JR files into the directory nothing happens once in the browser- it just shows the contents of the folder instead of installing JR.

Sounds like your missing the .htaccess file or mod_rewrite isnt working.

Check for hidden files.
