Will my original site be intact when the upgrade is done to 5?

That is, since a new site of JR5 is created before the upgrade in it's own directory, with it's own name and database. Then the data is transfered from the OLD JR4 site to the new JR5.

So will the old site still be intact if something goes horribly wrong?
