FoxyCart Setup w/PayPal

Just wanted to post some steps to help everyone with PayPal setup in Foxy Cart. Once you click the PayPal box in the Payment Setup of FoxyCart and entered your paypal email address in, there are a few things you need to do on the PayPal side of the house.

Log into PayPal
Go to Profile
My Selling Tools
Go to Instant Payment Notifications and click Update
You will need to enter in http://store_name.foxycart.com/ipn.php
Enable Message Delivery
Click Save


Go back to the previous page
For API Access, click update
click Add or edit API permissions
enter in billing_api1.foxycart.com
click the button (this will load a bunch of check boxes)
click every one except the Consolidate Accounts check box

I set everything up but I'm getting this error when I try to buy a song:


"When adding a downloadable product to your cart, you must specify a downloadable product code."

Now I am running foxycart in test mode if that has anything to do with this.


Any ideas?

You setup too much. It looks like you have defined a category as 'downloadable'. Don't need to.
The docs will be up shortly.

The only category you need is "Default for all products".

Thanks, Can you point me where to make this change. I looked in both the JR5 and in Foxycart site settings and haven't seen it.

I had it set to " Downloaded by the customer"
but "No shipping" worked.

Well that is, it got me past the error to the next issue.

The cart shows empty after I select a song.

Don't know if this is because I have it in test mode?



PRODUCT DELIVERY OPTIONS
how will these products be delivered?
Shipped using live shipping rates
Downloaded by the customer
Shipped using a flat rate fee
Picked up by the customer
No Shipping
