I'm looking to include new language variables to make sure my site stays compliant with the multi-lingual and I want to add some new text variables for my navigation. The new jr5 interface takes a little time to get used to but i'm liking what I see. Just need to locate everything first.

your right, it is very different.

Think:
* everything is a module
* all modules take care of their own

and that helps a bit. So if your looking for a language string that is related to a feature provided by a module, look in that modules LANGUAGE tab in the ACP.

Language strings find their way into the ACP by including them in the modules en-US.php file in
/module/THE-MODULE/lang/en-US.php

But after they have been included, the strings are stored in the database, so there will be no other language files even though there might be 3 or 4 languages active for the site.
