Is there anyway that I can duplicate one of the the modules to be used to do something totally different.

Example: lets just say that I want to used the item tag for something totally different...using the item tags module and the module I copy at the same time...which of course the copy will be called something different

I tried copying the item tags and then renaming it something else ...i went through everyfile and renamed it...then upload it to the server...but still got an error through the site...the copy must of had conflicts with the original item tags..

I thought the Aparna module does that...but it looks like it doesn't.

Basically, the two things to change when cloning a module is its name and url. Look in the module's include.php file at the meta function for its url.
So, if cloning the jrAudio module, its url is 'audio'.
To create the cloned module blModule with url 'module' (say), copy the /modules/jrAudio folder and all its contents to /modules/blModule.
Go through all the module files and change all instances of jrAudio and audio as follows -

jrAudio => blModule
jraudio => blmodule
audio => module

That's the basic idea - there may be other things to change dependent upon the original module so don't expect instant results, but work through and understand what each module function does in order to adapt it to your ends.
