I just had another idea on this player thing
You can insert timer based advertisements
Basically, what you do is create a loop on the stage that loops every X minutes...when the loop comes around, you trigger a URL to execute to _blank (or you can size it if you want)...and use something like your phpadnew code or something in a page so you can pop up the advertisement
Just another idea... I figure if you can't beat em...show them ads
Popup Advertisments generated from within the player??
I think that might be taking things a little too far.............lol
The player itself only consists of one frame on the stage with a stop action. And all the actionscript is contained in the first level of that frame.
I think it might be easier to embed the player in a popup html page that would generate ads around the player than to edit the player to produce popup ads.

I just built one that does exactly that
It runs popups if the music is playing But only if the music is playing
It can also be set to only pop up at the beginning of a track when it's first loaded from play, forward, or reverse
Just another idea really... I don't run ads, but it's a viable way of dealing with theft along with player branding
Is the music from a playlist or embedded in the flash?
Do you have it online someplace?
Can I see it?
Now you got me interested................
As far as the branding, I was thinking more on the lines of pulling the url of the flash embed code and displaying it on the player as a link to the main site so it would be automatic on each sites player.
But I still haven't given up on my blocking idea quite yet. You gave me some good food for thought with your other posts.......
I do have the JAMROOM version 3, and I do not want to everybody creates a member account just for be able to listening. That will kill a very young site like mine.
It is ok to listen music at my site without login.
Bandwidth for the current account that I have is 750GB/month. So, I think trading the bandwidth for branding my site on the flashplayer is a greate ideer. Besides, I only use the big flashplayer 540xsomething.
Daddyslyem, this will be good. You only sale your flashplayer per site, and it is very easy to put my site name on the top of the flashplayer, with a link to my site. My brandname is YPYY MUSIC.

Stella,
I'm looking into different ways to brand the player per site.
If its to much trouble to make it automatic with each player, I will manually do it for each player skin.
When I figure out the best way to do this,
I will update everone's player that was purchased in the past if they want it.
I'll let you know when I have a workable solution.
