hi i wonder if there is an template tutorial on how i can do a totally new template..

i dont know how jamroom really works but so far it looks good..
i have some questions to be sure before i buy it

i saw that users can do their own artist page i dont really want that
i dont want people to register for artist i just want registered users in different groups for example group1 can only download 20 files a day group2 40 files etc...

and an availability so users can upload media-files to the categories

i want to have the artist as categories not like it is now every artist have his own different page for example like that

- (thumb) Artist name
- (thumb) Artist name
- (thumb) Artist name

have i come to the right place or not?

Darkwoods -

welcome to the Jamroom Forums!

Jamroom doesn't currently have any way of limiting downloads by user groups - it has features to limit the amount of audio streamed, but cannot limit by number of downloads.

You can however make it so a user must be a member to download.

I hope this answers your questions!

I apologize by I'm not quite sure what the other questions are - you can pretty much customize the output of Jamroom any way (i.e layout) you would like - everything is configured via templates, so it would just be modifying the templates to suit your needs.

Hope this helps!

its okay....

my questions is can i have categories and albums without the needs to register an ''Artist' User'' to put songs

i want to make my own categories and albums

for example

Category1
- Madona
- julio iglesias
Category2
- Tupac
- Zombies

did u got my idea?

Category1 - this could be controled by assigning a "genre", which you can add/modify/delete the genre names that really do not have to be genres at all.

Then assign the artist to whatever category/genre you have created.

The admin can add all the artists they want being logged in as admin and clicking "create artist" and you can disable artist signups so that there is not even an option to join as an artist.

did you download the free version to give it a spin? it does not have all the features, but it will give you an idea as how it is structured

you can have "members" (non artists) and there can be different groups that are allowed different functions (allow stream only, allow download, allow watch video, etc) but at this time there is no way to limit a group to the number of downloads they can have, either they can download or they can not.

so you are wanting to offer downloads of artists like madonna and not really have the artists themselves join? or that is what it sounds like....does madonna know this? Smile
