Ok... I have been checking out the documentation on PHP Safe Mode and it could be the culprit here. I will check into Jamroom's directory creation function and see if there is a modification I can make to get it working. I'll let you know. Thanks!

Yep - its definately Safe Mode. I have been looking into it, and I will need to make some modifications to the code in order to get things working. Watch the front page for a message on when it is completed. thanks!

"P.S. You might want to try a re-install if things get too out-of-whack. Just remove the entire jamroom directory and re-upload it, and re-run install.php."

I tried that as it did not create the tables or database in MYSql. I deleted everything, and when I reloaded and tried to run install again, it kept going to the login page. I eventually got around this problem by (a) creating the empty database using myPHPAdmin and (b) commenting out lines 33-36 in install.php. I then ran install.php, got a "success" screen, restored install.php to it's orignal form (removed comment marks on lines 33-36 ) and uploaded to the server.

Hey Presto, it works! Very Happy - And now I must go sleep!!

Thanks

I am not sure why you had to do that - when Jamroom is first installed, it creates a file called ".htpasswd" in the config directory off of the main jamroom directory. If that file no longer exists, then Jamroom will assume a new install and prompt you for the install information. Very wierd - but I'm glad it worked for you!
