hi

im planming to build some themes but looks the tpl thing is really hard to encode, at least for me

wonder if i build just one plain html files for each page like music.tpl store.tpl and so on including the needed variables, will this work in jamroom?

most probably i will need to setup the config files to something to fit it, but how it will look like?

lets say i have 6 tpl files in the theme:
music.tpl
message.tpl
store.tpl
events.tpl
about.tpl
radio.tpl

each of them contains the full html code, including the header, footer and entries for the needed variables.

how will the theme.cfg will look like to make the above to work properly?

thanks in advance

go to an exsisting theme and open theme.cfg in word pad. then notice each page in the theme also has its own cfg file.

the tpls are just the pages broken up. you can open them in word pad and see the html.

make a page. create 3 tpl's. one head, mid, and them foot....break the page up into 3 parts and put it in the appropriate tpl.

its kinda catchy, but if you play with current themes, you will get the idea. hope i helped....
