sweet:
Has this been asked? If yes, so sorry to repeat! Wink

So SefJam changes the URL's....so it's no longer /members/1 -- and will be the /artist name? It will stay that way no matter which page is clicked on?

-s

Yep. It's pretty brilliant if you ask me Wink he did a great job with it.

That is correct, check out the demo in my sig to see a basic installation of SefJam with Cobalt.

Notice the url when you visit the artist page and then visit the audio, photos etc. Also take a look at the album. All very useful for keywords in the url, searches for artist name and album etc. Makes more sense to people who can read as well!!!

Also check out the readable urls in the main menu and the javascript dropdown menus.

**Edit**
Erm, the "That is correct" was in response to sweet's question not Kyle's compliment! Thanks for the compliment though Kyle!

If anyone has been having trouble with Proton and Originals themes and the pop up images in the artist gallery, here is the fix:

Proton and Originals both use the older style code:

Code
<a href="{$ARTIST_URL}photo_{$PHOTO_ID}_image.{$PHOTO_EXTENSION}"

Whereas they should be using:

Code
<a href="{$PHOTO_IMAGE_URL}"

The files you will need to correct are photo_text.tpl (Proton) and photo_entry.tpl (Originals).

You will need to make this correction if you are using these themes and rebuild all band sites before seeing the effect of the changes.

You'll also want to change the code for the calendar to display the pictures to

<a href="{$EVENT_IMAGE_URL}" target="_blank">

This is also true in the Evolution photo.tpl. You will need to change this in two places, although the other two already use the newer variable.

Hi Dazed, glad you like it!

I can't tell from the community page what the problem might be, what should be down at the bottom of the page? I'm guessing that it is a template error, but I haven't come across SefJam causing any errors like that before.

I'm not around for most of today, but will check back tonight.

it looks ok but there is an IE error now.
line 1279
char 18
error unterminattated string constant
code 0

Not sure if this matters but I see this now in server details...
mod_rewrite does NOT appear to be functioning correctly requires Jamroom Bonus Pack

Don't worry about the mod_rewrite warning, the check doesn't apply once SefJam is installed.

(For others reading please note that mod_rewrite MUST be reported as working before SefJam is installed, it is a prerequisite for SefJam).

yeah I read that earlier today. I should have removed that!! When all else fails, RTFM! Smile

I am still not sure what caused the error in IE on the community page? Any ideas?

I'm not sure about the IE error. I can take a look next time I am at a pc, but SefJam should be browser independent - I haven't come across any issue yet which involves the browser, although it is not completely impossible, so I will check it out in the near future. (Please post here if you find the error is unrelated).

If you would like the Artist Clouds and the sitemap additions to SefJam, pm or email me with the address I should send them to.

Oh, and your forum skin looks really cool, but I had some problems with it--it would just start flickering and not stop.

Thanks Kyle, it's still in progress and needs a bit of refining.

I don't suppose you know how to get the fields to show formatting using existing Jamroom code do you? Last time I looked that was the bit I was stuck on.
