Hey pleclair, can you help me merge my two data bases so I can get at least the events listing module to work. I would be most apreciative. Data bases are still a little over my head and Ive been trying to get help on it for a while. My site is at http://raginpit.com. I am almost complete with this one and the calender is a very important part of my business with us doing show promotions and helping Norcal bands gain fans to come see shows.

pleclair:
I figured it out, a few modules work using different $band_url = parameters.. some require the /bands/ in the path and some require the jamroom root path.

Still can't get the spotlight artist to work. When I enable the module, it kills all the modules in my user1 area of Mambo, and that's regardless of where I place it on the page.

Weird, any help would be appreciated..
I'm getting the hang of this though!
Thanks Wink

Id like to try and help fellas Wink read the pages of this topic further back and i had lots of problems at first, but eventualy i got them working nicely,.
however,. theres another way to get "artist spotlight" to work in mambo without doing it via werkkrew module., (even tho werkkrew modules are ace Wink )

you can do it ,by going into your Jamroom itself,. find the Url for the artist spotlight page,.
save it,.
then go into mambo admin,
go to modules,.
"new" (to create a new module.) then create a module but place the artist spotlight inside an IFRAME,its not perfect but it works Smile heres the code i used inside the mambo module ::

Code
<P align=center><IFRAME
src="http://trancecreator.com/Tcv5/jamroom/rank.php?mode=spotlight"
frameBorder=0 width=625 scrolling=yes height=250 allowTransparency></IFRAME></P>

and it comes out like this = (center & top of page )

yeah i just tried that hoping it would do for now. It shows up but its causing my menu on the right to disapear. I thought perhaps it was a Iframe too large. but thats not the case. I guess Ill have to keep waiting modules.

Hey,
I'm trying that Iframe thing, but my code wont stick, is there an editor I have to configure by default?

Also, based on the spotlight module, does it matter if I'm using Mambo 4.5.1 with Jamroom 2.24 + bonus pack? I notice a lot of stuff referring to rank.php, I don't see that in 2.24 and read that it was replaced with ranking.php.

Will the modules work with these versions?

Uhh, one more thing (sounding like Columbo now..)
Some of the content that I'm wrapping for Jamroom is too long! It doesn't fit into a wrapper.. So if I can figure out why the Iframes code wont stick, I may be off to the races!

Thanks everyone!
Smile

in the content area of the module ,where you insert the code etc ,.
theres a sign that looks like . . . . <>
use that to insert html etc ,(i think thats what you mean Wink )

also im using Jamroom 2.24 with the werkkrerw modules,. however im using mambo 4.5.0 - but that shouldnt make any difference realy as module creation etc in both are the same.,
when you say "is there an editor by default" im not sure what you mean ? in mambo - i go to admin ,then in there where it says "modules" i select new and theres a mini editor there, once in there ,in the module box theres buttons for Bold text, italic text and text size etc,. theres a button thats like <> ,i press that then paste the iframe code in there ,should work mate.,
however - mine module is set to be in the "top module" position, its too big to put in the left & right side,. to go on the sides you gotta use werkkrews module mate. Wink (altho i use both my iframe version and werkkrews Smile)

* footnote,i just checked your site mate ,looks good ! Smile

When I add a module, I just get the default {mosimage} and {mospagebreak} function, no other symbols like <> or anything..

That could be why I'm having a harder time.

I notice my werkkrews Band Ratings doesn't seem to be working.. it's not populated with anything.

BTW this is my site currently.. http://www.paulleclair.com/IndyReview
I think you checked the other post's site.

Thanks Johnypneumo!

One thing I need to understand is for some of the modules there is mention of a jamroom/rank folder.

I didn't get one in Jamroom 2.24, the werkkrews came with a folder, but I don't know if it's even being found, I put it in Jamroom/rank, but stuff doesn't seem to use it..

Where is it supposed to go?
Thanks

For the ratings thing I forgot to mention before that there is some javascript you need to add to your template, I have noted that in my first post.

I have the bonus pack installed..

but it only came with a config, signup, templates, and themes folder.

Things are coming along though.
Any progress on that paypal and upgrade.php stuff?

Thanks Brian and that werkkrew, that's some really nice work!
I'm glad I registered! Laughing

Oh well, there must be something wrong with my directory structure or something, because I tried the new werkkrew spotlight module, adjusted the parameters, even forced a band ID, but never got it to work.

I'm using a wrapper to point to it..

B.T.W. this is what my jamroom root looks like hard drive..

.Jamroom
./bands
./compile
./config
./docs
./images
./include
./language
./logs
./rank (Note: I added this manually from werkkrew module??)
./signup
./songs
./styles
./templates
./themes
./uploads

also, no rank.php in jamroom root dir, just ranking.php (just to confirm that)

Thanks
Paul

Dont jump the gun.

Start by explaining what about the spotlight module doesnt work

Then tell me exactly what you are looking to do with rank or rating
