Add All To Cart

I was thinking about how to make it easier for consumers to purchase all tracks instead of downloading a HUGE zipped file.

Is there a way to alter the script (If you tell me, I can probably do it) to have a button Add All Songs To Cart. It is a lengthy process to have the consumer keep hitting add to cart for each track if 10-20 are available from an album.

As I type this I am waiting for a zipped album with 14 tracks (118,000KB) to upload to my server, and I'm on a Hi-speed cable connection with 33:00 minutes left. That can be brutal with a consumer with DSL.

Anyway, allowing add all songs will give the consumer an opportunity to download the files from their
my files at their leisure.

So BG, Six, Kyle, somebody is there a way?

PLEASE.

Thanks

You probably could...you might actually be able to already add multiple vault items at a time, but I'm not sure if or how...

Thanks. So I guess I wait on answer from Big Guy and Six String. What .php handles that. I see it calls music.php, but that seems to get created when a member is created.

Anyone else having any luck using zip albums?

I'm not aware of a way to add an album playlist to the your cart with one click. You'll have to wait on bigguy and see if its even possible. Wink

Yes I know. How difficult would it be to alter the php script to do it. Which php script handles it?

Are you or anybody else doing zipped albums with at least 10 tracks? I want to know the results.

Thanks for replys

You would need to edit the index.php and cart.php scripts.

Since all of the tracks should be in 1 zip file, why do you need to have multiple add-to-cart action?

Thanks!

because the zip file is to big to upload, and then download for users of DSL. Takes to long. If there was an add all tracks to cart, then at their own leisure they can download each track individually.

So when I buy a 10 track album I need to download each track individually? No, I don't think so - that would annoy the pants off of me.

Let me ask you are you using zipped albums on your site?
have you tried uploading a huge zipped album.

Not even itunes, Beatport, traxsource use huge zipped albums for downloading. They allow you select all tracks to cart, and you download each individually.

A zipped album with 10-15 tracks is to big to upload to the server, takes to long to download. I'm on a High-speed cable connection, and it takes 35min to upload to my server a 118,000kb zipped album. It will be almost an hour for a DSL user.

If your album is too big for your cable connection you always have the option of uploading the tracks one at a time. Of course this means the visitor will have to download the tracks one at a time as well.

To provide the best service to your customers the ideal thing to do is to upload each track individually, and also upload the album as a zip so that you can sell individual tracks and also have an "add all to cart" button to add the entire album.

I can see where an "add all to cart" option could be useful - I'll check to see how hard that would be to add support for it.

Thanks!

Hi:

I wanted to know if there was any light at the end of the tunnel for this feature, or can you tell me what to change in the php so I can get all the files to add2cart.

Thanks
