I've been working on a classified ads module for Jamroom. I have the backend done. DB Schema, Quota options, create/modify/delete ads and categories. Config settings and tools options as well as the form controller. Now comes the retrieval of the categories and ads for display. The Developers guide covers the creating custom jamroom ranking system modes but I am a bit confused as to how to write this script. Reading the sample ranking system script, I don't understand how Jamroom calls the functions? Are there any functions that are required? Any suggestions on the best way to retrieve a list of categories as well as the ads within a selected category? If someone is interested in helping out on this project, feel free to PM me.

The ranking plugin functions are made to work with the ranking system so that you can retrieve module info via a smarty function in templates (or via a ranking.php URL), i.e.

{jr_ranking mode="ModuleName" params="here" etc. etc.}

Awesome. I was hoping to hear that. So basically write the smarty functions for the module and use the jamroom ranking system to call the smarty functions? Thanks for the good news, Kyle.
