It's really cool. It helps with customer support for sure. This is just my opinion and 2 cents , but the only thing so far that prevents me from being thrilled about using it are...

1. It would be nice if as an admin, I could give permission to one user to edit and see the support tickets. This would be great because you can have other people/employees or whatever that can handle support. Maybe, I'm missing it and this feature exists, but primarily, I want to give access to my account on the site and not have to always login as admin. I spend most of my time on my own site on my user account and it would be really helpful and fast if such a feature existed.

2. The biggie. The ability to reply via the email you receive. You get the email:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To respond to this ticket right now, add your message above the line...

So and so just submitted a ticket. and the details are etc...

Something like that. The ability to do the above for me would probably not only make things easier, but also I think it would improve my laziness of support tickets Smile

Hi - You can do these already with the paSupportTicket module.

#1 - As admin, goto modify user and there will be a yes/no field where you can set the user as a 'Support Ticket Admin'. That user, when logged in, would then have access to, and be able to respond to all support tickets.

#2 - The emails sent in response to support tickets are based on templates, eg.

Code
Your '{SYSTEM_NAME}' Support Ticket reply ({SUPPORT_PREFIX}{SUPPORT_ID}) has been sent.

We will respond as soon as possible.

User Email: {SUPPORT_USER_EMAILADR}
User Nickname: {SUPPORT_USER_NICKNAME}
User Fullname: {SUPPORT_USER_FULLNAME}
Band Name: {SUPPORT_BAND_NAME}
Ticket Priority: {SUPPORT_PRIORITY}
Ticket Type: {SUPPORT_TYPE}
Ticket Status: {SUPPORT_STATUS}
Ticket Created: {SUPPORT_CREATED}
Ticket Updated: {SUPPORT_UPDATED}

Regards
System Admin

Maybe you can juggle some of the variables around to do what you want?

Cool. i don't know how I missed that modify user option. But I'm glad that feature exists.

As for the variables, i'll look into it, but being an admin user as my regular user account makes me happy for now... Thanks!

Is the module supposed to have a Master Admin MENU button in CP that takes you straight to ticket manager?

Yes - The link to the ticket manager is in the Admin Tools => Module Tools section.

HEY EVERYONE!!

I need to post this "shout out" to Paul (pasher @ motagator) for this ULTRA useful module.

If you are on the fence about purchasing this module I hope this pushes you over to buy it.

From a pure coding stand point this is WAY under priced. If you had anyone else custom code this for you it would cost hundreds of dollars. If you tried to do it yourself, it would take weeks.

If you are serious about your Jamroom and want to provide top notch customer support this module is a must have! I do not know how we would retain our members without it.

Thanks again Paul - all of your modules are top notch.

Hey Paul,

I got a 'small' feature request for this module.
It would be cool if you can configure the priorities on a per quota basis.
So 'free' users can only create low/medium tickets, and paid users can create low/medium and high prior tickets.

That's a good idea. Or take it a step further - different priorities for users that have paid for subscriptions.

(Edit) actually that's the same concept i suppose =)

@ilovehousemusic, that's a good idea. Although I think your 'free' users must be able to report bugs and kinds of stuff with a medium prior label. But assigning multiple priorities to a quota would be cool!

Nice idea. Let me see if I can build that in.
Thanks

Prior to the above suggestion, I have been working on a new release of this module that as well as a few minor changes and fixes, includes the means to upload a file alongside any posts.
I think that's done now. You can set the maximum uploaded file size (zero to disable file uploads) and permitted file extensions (blank for any extension) per quota.

I've also moved the priority configuration to the quota section, as suggested above.

Before I release it, I wonder if anyone would like to log into http://paulasher.com/paSupportTickets_Demo/info.php with demo / demo and check out the file upload system?
Let me know here how it goes.
Thanks
Pa

Hi Paul,

I did test it with some attachments, see the demo for some suggestions for improvement.
Keep up the good work!

A note with the supported file extensions and size limit below the "Attachment" text will be handy. And perhaps for a future release a config setting to set supported extensions and size limits on a per quota basis.Altough a attachment preview would be cool as well, to avoid downloading attachments over and over again. -Brian

Hi Brian
The maximum upload file size, and allowed extensions (if set) are shown under the file upload form, in the left section. Both the max size and allowed extensions are set on a per quota basis.
I knew someone would ask for file previews Wink A thumbnail of an uploaded image could be shown, or a player for an uploaded MP3 or FLV but then I figured that as I then couldn't cover all file types that might get uploaded, there would user confusion about that, and as most PCs are setup to launch a preview upon download, I'd leave it out for now.
Thanks
Pa

Maybe you can built in a preview thumbnail which only shows up if a certain extension is uploaded.
e.g: when a .png, .jpg is uploaded a thumbnail shows up. A player shows up for a .mp3, .wav, .flv file and a dowload link for other files?
