Ok I think your module doesn't support re-captcha.
When I comment out the regular JR captcha

Code
$captcha_code = paSupportTickets_captcha();
  jmToolCell('Validification Code', $captcha_code);
  //jmInput('Enter the above validation code',captcha_code,'text');
  jmCheckBox('I agree with the ToS',tos,'See the ToS at ……',$_rep['tos']);
  jmDivider();

the re-captcha shows up, but there's no 'connection' for validation. so no matter what I enter in the re-captcha everything will work when I comment out the

Code
    //jrSetFormNotice('error', 'Validation code incorrect');
    //jrLocation('paSupportTickets.php?mode=open_from_tpl');

If I don't leave it out, everything will fail.

You're probably right. As I said above, I hadn't heard of it until a couple of days ago Wink

PM me your logins (FTP and JR) and I'll try and work out what you're doing, though I won't promise to make it work with recaptcha!!

paSupportTickets V1.4.0 now has Progress Bar support when uploading ticket files.
Redownload and install the latest version.

NOTE that when admins are replying to tickets, there will be no progress bar due the fact that there are nested forms in that script and that stops the Jamroom progress bar from working (sor some reason!!).
But at least your users get to see the progress bar Laughing
Cheers
Pa

I've just uprevved this module to V1.4.1
With all the recent spamming issues, this module now supports recaptcha when non logged in visitors create support tickets. See -

Download the lastest version from the MarketPlace

Cheers

Paul...
You are the best!

Do I have to re-upload the whole module to 'undo' the changes you made for me to get this work, before the spamming issue was sorted out?

Yes - Just re-upload the whole module.
That should do it.

Hmm now i'm running into an issue.
Since the visitor can only enter his name, you will get visitors with double names. So it will be difficult for the visitor to see whats wrong when someone else has just registered with his name.

Maybe you can add a username field with a tooltip which says this will be used to login into the support ticket system. And keep the name field for their full name. I think this will make it easier understandable for visitors.

When a visitor creates a ticket, that visitor becomes a member of the site, so yes, the visitor name becomes the JR user_nickname and checks are made that it doesn't already exist. If it does, the visitor gets an appropriate message and will have to change his name I guess.
I'll see if I can make it so numbers are added to his name if it already exists instead.
Is that OK, do you think?
Cheers

I think it's more customer/user-friendly if you let them pick a username which becomes their jr username and let them fill in their full name, so you get a more person-2-person support since you know who you talking to.

numbering usernames could be an option, but that does not give your new fresh signed up user the ability to choose his own username. Unless you show them an error when the username is been taken with some suggestions (i.e: their name with numbers or switched) so they know it's taken and are still able to change it.
If you put an number behind it, then they will not be notified about it and they cant change it.

I think it's much easier to add an extra username field to it then program a new function which can do this user friendly.

When submitting a ticket, visitors are emailed with their username and a randomly generated password, and advised that they need to login to see the response and to continue the support thread.
There is an argument that an extra field might put people off?
This module has been out for a while and has plenty of users. Is anyone else using this feature? How has it worked out so far?
Let us know.
Thanks
Pa

Scenario:

User goes to sign up. Has problems signing up. The account gets created but the user continues to attempt to sign up and keeps getting the "username or email already in use" (because the account exists already). I have seen this happen and people have emailed me about it.

So, they go to create a support ticket not knowing the email they will use to submit the ticket, is actually already tied to a member account. How will the Module handle the not-logged-in ticket submission (with email already existing)?

Hope that makes sense...

iLovehousemusic, I didn't thought of that yet.. But you're right.

But in the most cases, your users will checkout the FAQ where they can request their password by submitting their email address. So that's not a big issue if you redirect your users to the right pages for help before they submit a support ticket.

In my scenario, I just want to give non-existing users the ability to choose their username and when their username is taken, no numbers should be added without notify them.
