I was doing some imports the other day and thought that it might be a good idea to insert the pulldown for {$VIDEO_GENRE} if exists. Near the "Import?" check box or somewhere on that form.

Otherwise, to set the genre - you have to go back and select each one separately.

Another fine idea Very Happy
Presumably it would be safe to assume that all videos being imported are of the same genre so just have the one drop down field. Having one for each video might be a bit cumbersome?

Hmmm i see. That might be safe to assume. As a real world example, i have genres like:

Tech/Gear
Documentary
Instructional/Tutorial
Live Performance
Interview
Music Video
Promotional
Dance Circle/Competition

Just thinking out loud... lets say i wanted to Import "DJ Douschebag" videos - I would do my search. The results would show various videos. I would select the Live Performance pull down, check the boxes. Import. Then I want to import those 2 or 3 Interview videos of DJ Douschebag that I saw on the previous search. I do another search for DJ Douschebag, select Interviews genre, click check box, Import.

Yeah that might work!

Alternative - you could have a "NEXT" screen that takes viewer to another screen w/ pulldowns inserted on each video. This screen would have less videos displayed - assuming you didn't select all from the previous screen. I think the idea above is easier.

speaking of which - a SELECT ALL feature?

Yes - that would be the process.
I think it would be acceptable as after an import, the same search result page is shown again, so just change the genre as appropriate.

I'm noticing some of my Imported Videos are coming in with the HIDE attribute checked.... is there anything in the module code that might cause that?

Is this after they have been imported?
It shouldn't happen as the module's import script always writes 'yes' to the video table 'video_show' field.
Can you check the actual video table to see what is there for the imported videos?
Thanks
Pa

I actually am not comfortable w/ my SQL query skills... is there another way to check this?

What's ever more weird is that I can UNCHECK it , but when i click to SAVE it, it generates a SUCCESS message but the VIDEO_HIDE is checked again.

hmmmm.

On more thing - I noticed my normal UPLOAD VIDEOS button is missing from the Videos menu.

The only thing I can think of is at one point I did try YTSeamless YouTube Only feature, toggle YES.
Then I toggled it back to NO.

Is it possible that when toggling back to NO, the Video Upload button was not re-enabled?

TIA

Can you PM me your logins (ftp and JR) so that I can try and find out what's going on?
Thanks
Pa

HouseMusic's issue is resolved.
His quota maximum videos option was set and if any YouTube videos are imported that exceed this maximum value, Jamroom forces them to be 'hidden'.
Other module users might like to watch out for that.
Cheers
Pa

Hi Paul,
is there an update around after 1.0.5 ?
Did you get to the statistics too as well as to the playlist generation problem?

Best Matthias
