Its been awhile..but I stilll don't get any links to create battles for any of the members..
only the admin is allow to create battles..what can be wrong

hmm...it loos like the demo/ Nova also doesn't allow an artist to add a battle Question

It looks like the last time a active battle was created in the demo by an artist was last year,,,possibly July time frame Shocked

I added The Battle Module to my site (the latest release). I am using Flashback skin. For some reason I am unable to create battles. the error I get is

Deprecated: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated in /home/content/93/9000493/html/jrBattle.php on line 85

I havent been able to create a battle since I first installed. Is there something I havent configured correctly?

are you having problems with just artist creating battles or both artist and admin...
I'm having problems with artists...my admin is good with creating battles

Both artists & admin. I reinstalled the module .. now I am able to create battles (but the error still shows). The battles will not show to artists.. Plus once i create the battle and try to view it.. I get the error displayed above.

I am using the Flashback skin because it seemed to be the only skin that would support the features i wanted to use. the battles were an important part of the site.. I planned on hosting to large payout battles.

hmmm....

I didn't notice this before but...there isn't a button displaying on any of the battles to click on so you can preview a video or song or picture Shocked

I'm getting this on both my live site and my test site which both has the latest update of jrbattle.

Confused

no response on this thread for awhile... Confused

You can customize the output of a battle by using the "battle_view" or "battle_list" modes for the ranking system - there's just no way to have a "default" that is going to please everyone. The battle_view mode templates for Nova do have the song/video/image links for playing and viewing.

Automation is the KEY

Jamroom sites are falling off with users more and more as other sites have created ways for members to create virtually everything themselves.

Simply put -> Any function having to be controlled and approved by the admin is in my book a Dud and not worth the work monitoring it or paying for it...

They are great ideas but seriously the most traffic a Jamroom gets anymore is from all of us owners checking each other out. If raising the price means that this mod gets those same advantages? So be it.

hI there Bigguy,

Is there anyway that you can adjust this module to give an artist the ability to be able to create a battle.
It's fine that the admin and the master admin can create a battle between members,
but members should also be allowed to create there own battles and challenges.

One of the negative on this module right now that I see is an admin / master admin are the only one who can create anything in the jr battle.
Please understand that there will be many times that an admin will not have time to create a battle...
maybe not even the mindset to create a battle because he or she now has to browse through so many pictures or videos or music to create a battle
and choose which one makes sense for that battle

If they do not create one...this feature just hangs around on a site with nothing going on.

Just by looking at the demo..the last battle was mines that I create a test on

this is over 6 months...of a feature not being utilized.

Please just give it a thought on having artists being able to create a battle..it will help this feature progress better with better results and activity between members

boplive ... I agree totaly with that... A user also should create battle if they like... N8flash did some custom things but he dont make a n8AjaxMyBattles Sad
