no feeedback on this.... Crying or Very sad

something else to point out on the jr_battle
Is there anyway of making the the videos or songs in a pop_up with a player instead of making it go to a page of its own with a player..once you x out the player...the whole site gets x out.then you have to log back onto the site....which is very annoying....

It will work better as a stand alone popup like how it is on the home page all the way in the bottom of the index page where stands both tv channel player and community radio...that will work better for the battles preview

It can be done, but it's not in the code. So it goes down as a feature request. Right now I'm currently in the process of redoing some stuff on the Jamroom backend (the system that builds Jamroom), so cannot address anything in the module at this time.

Sorry!

You will find the templates in jamroom/modules/jrBattle/templates - you can modify those to suit your needs, as they work just like other Jamroom templates.

Hope this helps!

Hi there Brian...regarding the jrbattle function...

I want to point out a few things that the following below should be also displaying somewhere in the page...
Hopefully soon you can added it to the functions.

Battle Rules:

Those who are joining the battle should be aware of what are the battle rules.
Right now...I have created 2 tests battles and there is no rules being shown no where on any of the 2 pages that shows the battles.

but...It's there in the control panel to be written in and it should be in the jrbattles page...somewhere..
even if its a small popup to let everyone know the rules of any battles.

Battle Description:

Also, I think it will help also if the Battle Desription should also be display somewhere on the page...even if its a small popup.
Giving some brief information about it it...will be nice to show.

New Battle Sponsor Description

This one..hmmmmmmm....i'm not sure if this one is really needed to be displayed on any of the pages...
but maybe it should be displayed...possibly to also have a popup on this...or something small that is written underneath the picture about the sponsor.

Just giving my 2 cents on what will help this feature present itself...

As always..your doing great work... Smile

This is already supported - you can use the following template variables in your battle ranking templates:

$BATTLE_RULES
$BATTLE_DESC
$BATTLE_SPONSOR_DESC

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help on this B.G.

Funny thing....

I was able to get the battle _desc the day before you answer the email through checking out the page source in firefox.

I put the other 2 variables functions you gave to use..once again thanks... Smile

Hmmm...I have another question????

Right now...when you go on the battle page...you have to click on one of the links to show the battles where there finish or starting.

And I took a look at the battle.tpl and it does have the first link as a default

Is there a way of having active battles...already displaying without clicking on it...

It just look so empty once you go on the page....taht you have to click on it to display something.

Let me know what I can do at my end to have it display something first without clicking on any of the links

I just want you to be aware that I created a test battle 2 days ago ...in the Nova demo
called -1 day test

this is how it was below in the admin when I created it.
Arrow Battle Activate Time
07/04/12 08:22
and it was set for the battle to start today in about 23 hours from when i created it...
Arrow Battle Start Time
07/05/12 08:22

now i believe whats happening is when there is no entry into the battle...
"o" entry ...
the timer re-sets itself to start all over again....the whole 23 hours started again after you refresh it.

now i went back to the novademo admin this morning and this is the weird thing

now it has the following below..
i made sure it was to start in 1 day of the time the battle was created...i double checked it.

Arrow Battle Start Time
07/06/12 14:15
and to finish on
Arrow Battle End Time
07/06/12 14:55 Arrow Shocked

very weirdddddddddddd

oh yeahhhhhhhh...one more thing...

which is happening in my site...when there is no entry into the battle...and it remains "0"
that battle stays in limbo under the open for entry tab and goes no where and it just re-sets itself..
but no one can join the battle...

*********************UPDATE*********************

i went back to the nova demo admin this morning again and the weird thing happened again

this how it re-set itself yesterday morning 7/5/2012 after 23 hours

Arrow Battle Start Time
07/06/12 14:15
and to finish on
Arrow Battle End Time
07/06/12 14:55 Arrow

now this morning 7/6/2012 the timer re-sets itself to start all over again....the whole 23 hours started again after you refresh it.

and

the new start time is as the following below:
It just did it by itself since there is no entry

Arrow Battle Start Time
07/07/12 14:18
and to finish on
Arrow Battle End Time
07/07/12 14:58

something wrong is happening with this...bug..bug...bug

Rolling Eyes

This is not a bug - you just need to change the System Config -> System Modules -> Battle Config -> No Battle Entry to "cancel battle". By default if there are no entries in a battle the start time is pushed forward 24 hours.

Hey Brian,

I am using YT Seemless and have uploads disabled. The Battle module allows me to enter Video Battles when I have a Youtube, but the popup player needs to be changed because it is trying to play an uploaded video.

Can you help point me in the right direction? I'd like the popup to be full screen and the video player to be a youtube player that plays the appropriate video.
