im using JR4.2.7 Nova exclusively ... in the vault i select something / any audio video file and clicked the image representing it ... this loads the more detailed info on the selection .... and next screen the image is "huge" even though in my admin config it says 250 width and 200 hight and ANY image will be scaled / resized automatically ... same settings ive applied to quota's .... ???

try clearing your image caches in the admin panel then check the php_error_log for any issues, and also the activity_log.

I've seen this happen on some images sometimes.

Its hard to re-create the issue. re-uploading the image normally fixes it in the cases i've seen and if it doesnt then I normally end up adding a fixed width/height to the template <img width="50" height="50" to stop it from screwing up the template layouts.

thanks solved

one more question ... when i click "by rating" or "by plays" i get no display because my nova.css is obviously set to display text and background as the same ... i cant remember which text color to change for this ? do you know ? also the 'star' rating image doesnt display but could be caused by this ?

thanks

http://www.guitarchildren.com/lists/artists
http://www.guitarchildren.com/lists/videos
http://www.guitarchildren.com/lists/songs

all these have "by plays" and "by rating" tabs ... when these buttons are pushed you will not see what the rating or plays are because the text and rating star dont display because the text is the same color as the background color ... if you let your mousecursor hove over the right hand side where ratings should be you'll sometimes see 4,3,5, etc

The only thing I'm not seeing are the stars for the rating... make sure you have the rating images in your skins/Nova/images folder.

I see the plays text.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

The problem your posting about here is directly related to your other post.........
http://www.jamroom.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=227483

You are simply missing some of the "Images" in your image folder as Sixsting explained above...!!!
These Images are missing in your Nova Skin.........
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_back.png
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_1.png
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_2.png
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_3.png
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_4.png
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_5.png

If you click on any of the links above, you will clearly see that they do not display the image.
They just take you to the default redirect page......

But if you click on the link below, you will see that it DOES display the image because its not missing.
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/small_rating.png

Make sure you upload ALL Images from the Nova image file to the correct directory.
And if your on a cluster server, make sure they get uploaded to both the master and cluster.

That should solve your image issues........ Wink

just downloaded the entire CORE 4.2.7 ... i REPLACED skins/nova/images .... so the entire images folder has been replaced .... curiously i see in my directory root quite clearly the images that u say are not there .... well they are eg rating_5.png (1....5) ... and so are the small_rating ... its the only one

yes your link to the small image displays [and rating_back also does] and your link to the others do not

so must i edit the nova.css ?

/* Large Rating */
.star-rating,
.star-rating a:hover,
.star-rating a:active,
.star-rating a:focus,
.star-rating .current-rating {
background: url("images/rating_back.png") left 0px repeat-x;
}
.star-rating {
position:relative;
width:80px;
height:16px;
overflow:hidden;
list-style:none;
margin:0;
padding:0;
background-position: left top;
}
.star-rating li {
display: inline;
}
.star-rating a,
.star-rating .current-rating{
position:absolute;
top:0;
left:0;
text-indent:-1000em;
height:16px;
line-height:16px;
outline:none;
overflow:hidden;
border:none;
}
.star-rating a:hover,
.star-rating a:active,
.star-rating a:focus {
background-position: left bottom;
}
.star-rating a.star1-rating {
width:20%;
z-index:6;
}
.star-rating a.star2-rating {
width:40%;
z-index:5;
}
.star-rating a.star3-rating {
width:60%;
z-index:4;
}
.star-rating a.star4-rating {
width:80%;
z-index:3;
}
.star-rating a.star5-rating {
width:100%;
z-index:2;
}
.star-rating .current-rating {
z-index:1;
background-position:left center;
}

I'm not sure what your seeing so I don't know what to tell you.............. Confused

But if you click on this link, it displays the image.
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/small_rating.png

And if you click on this link it doesn't, Because the image is not there!!
If the image was there it should display just like the link above.
http://www.guitarchildren.com/skins/Nova/images/rating_back.png

And the image not displaying in the link above has nothing to do with your CSS... Wink

But the only way I'll be able to understand whats going on is if I have FTP access to your site.
So if you want to send me your FTP access by email, I'll take a look.

In your Nova.css file, try changing this:

Code
background: url("images/rating_back.png") left 0px repeat-x;

to this:

Quote:
background: url("{JAMROOM_URL}/skins/Nova/images/rating_back.png") left 0px repeat-x;

Hope this helps,
Douglas
