Your representing a company and dont know of its prices

We have no idea what you are talking about here. If you have something constructive or useful to add the conversation, then please add it. Otherwise the JR5 super pack is $99.

There are no plans to lower prices on JR4 modules at this time.

my questions are for someone that makes decisions

Paul is a "decision maker" for Jamroom. once again, please add something constructive or post a legitimate question. If you're just going to rant or ramble your post will just be deleted.

After installing it does not create a index.php or something. when i'll go to the website it just gives me an ftp look-a-like overview of the files and folder. This happens local and on my live test server.

Make sure you upload the included .htaccess file - if you forget it this is what you will see. If you have uploaded it, then it means your webserver either is not allowing .htaccess files, or mod rewrite is disabled.

Hope this helps!

Btw: Can you tell me which files I should put on my gitignore list? so I can deploy changes without re-installing jr after every deploy?

When there are new beta releases just upload/overwrite the modules and skins folders. If you are customising the Elastic skin clone it first (developer tools) and customise the new skin.

I currently hold two jamroom 4 license from where I'll be upgrading them to the new version: However; I need to purchase a third license for my other site that I'm currently testing the beta release. Can I still purchase the third license for $99.00 since this is not an upgrade from jr4?

Thank you

Yes. You are a JR4 license holder, so go ahead and take advantage of the beta period sale package. Smile

Thanks James, that could well be it.
effusiveart - Are the modules you refer to Nate's? If so, Nate is an independent third party Jamroom developer so you would need to take up your issues with him directly.

Are there any install instructions for the JR5 beta? I'm a bit new to this.

Its pretty straightforward -
1. Copy all the files and folders to the folder you want Jamroom5 to run in.
2. Create a database for this installation.
3. In a browser open the folder. You should see an install form.
4. Fill in the database name, the database username and password and submit.
5. That's it installed. Now click to go to the homepage and click on the 'create account' button top right.
6. The first account you create will be the admin account so enter a username like 'admin', say, an active email and password.
7. Submit and wait for an email, then goto the link in the email to activate the admin account.
8. Start exploring Jamroom5!!

Hey Brian, Great work, we looking forward to the final release. When do you expect to be out of beta and will there be a migration for user from JR4 to Jr 5?

Cheers!
