Jamroom Support: View topic - Artist Links

It looks like the url links were changed to dashes vs the underscores. I prefer dashes but I have many artists who's links no longer work. Is there a good way to fix this so I can stay with dashes and maybe redirect the old links to the new?

Got some example urls of what you want to re-write?

There are a few articles on how to do it with mod_rewrite

But it would be nice to see what your trying to do.

the end part of the urls is just for show
site.com/admin/audio/6/song-6

will show just the same as:
site.com/admin/audio/6/song-about-rabbits or
site.com/admin/audio/6/sOnG-AboUt_r_a_b_b_i_t_s

Because that last part is just for display.

Brian fixed this today and will probably add it to the next release. The problem will not effect new users but in jr4, if I created a band called "Rocking Band" it was created as Rocking_Band with an underscore. So now you have links on the internet pointing to your artist page as sitename/rocking_band.

In JR5, it was rewritten as dashes so Rocking-Band. All posted internet links are now invalid since the url is different.

What does the fix do?

Does it change the urls for jr4 upgrades only?

Just sends them to the same page instead of a "Page Not Found".
