Hi All
I'm thinking that I want to build a 'JR webpage' that has those little boxes with drop down selections so that visitors can enter the variables they want (bands, songs, options etc.), then those parameters can be passed to the appropriate JR script and the info/action they want can be taken.
How is that done? Can someone give me some sample code, or point me to an appropriate website?
Thanks
Pash

Pash -

I'm not sure how long it would take to make a "super" form for all of Jamroom's data (band, photos, songs, etc.) but at least starting out with a form for the song.php script might be a start. For example, what if you could call play.php like this:

play.php?mode=show_form

And it would generate a form interface to play.php and let the user throw in their own options.

Let me know if this is kinda what your thinking about, as I can put it down on the the todo list.... thanks for th suggestion Pash!

I'm really just thinking 'out loud' at the moment, so not sure wot I want Smile and I'm no 'webpage builder expert', so I rely on 'borrowing' templates and sample code, and working it out from there.
But maybe a single point from which all visitors can get to any of the options I make available, if you see wot I mean?

How about an image that when hovered over, drops down a list of options, which in turn when hovered on display more options, and when an option is eventially clicked, goes to a specific link.
I've seen this done on other sites - is it straightforward html, or is it java or something else?
Just looking for a template to try it out Very Happy
Cheers
Pash

Doing "drop downs" would require some javascript (not too difficult, but can be a pain to maintain) in order to have one drop down HTML select make the next drop down HTML select "change" or be dynamic.

Let me brainstorm a bit on this too and see if there is something I could come up with to give you more flexibility in creating things like this. I would rather "do it right" the first time so it can made more flexible, in anticipation that more requests like this would be coming down the road.

I'll keep you up to date Pash!
