Do you have deeplinking allowed sunlizard? This link would basically show that one could pluck the XML list from your page and site load tracks anywhere...but if you have deeplinking allowed it makes sense...

I'm just not sure that deeplink protection will work because I don't see any type of play key.

Also, I got your songs in my tmp folder Laughing So apparently playing using the wimpy player also "downloads" the song to your computer...

I still haven't tested this with the jamroom player, but I remember bigguy saying that it won't store the mp3 in your windows temp like most flash players do.

So how do you use keys with a XML playlist?

http://mediakinesis.com/stream.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=135&song_id=865&k=8800256b288f3b47&ext=.mp3

Does the XSPF player not cache the song as well?

Question

You can't build keys like that...

Jamroom dynamically creates the keys based on the timers and what-not in the DB... So you are either stuck coding...or using something "pre-developed" like the XSPF player support.

The XSPF player is one I'd like to test out, if only I could find a site with it... Laughing

If you got a link I'd love to check it out... I've been wanting to play with it before I do anything with it in my own sites...

On a side note, you notice the link for my site you posted works now...but wait till the timer runs out and you will need a new key Wink

Here is a page to look at using the stock UmberAlert with FP:
http://ascmp3.com/artists/1/Mea_Culpa.php

Are you just looking at the source?

playlist_url=http%3A%2F%2Fascmp3.com%2Fplay.php%3Fmode%3Dsong_hifi%26band_id%3D1%26song_id%3DDarts%26type%3Dxspf

There might be a way to encrypt the playlist filename?

hmm, yeah, I just looked at the playlist...I didn't actually go to the site or try the player...but I see it still uses the same link:

http://ascmp3.com/stream.php?mode=song_hifi&band_id=1&song_id=13&ext=.mp3

With no key... I wonder, do you have media keys disabled?

This one doesn't load into temp, not that I can find anyways...hmm Confused

Is it the player or the URL that causes the file to load to the computer?

On my site Media keys are enabled and deeplinking is set to normal.

The wimpy site claims that purevolume is using the wimpy player.

Check this link:
http://www.purevolume.com/fireitup

Can you pick up the song from cache?

I see they have masked the playlist!

thanks

Thanks for the help and props, rgnelson. Couldn't have done it without your help.

dj, yes I have the deep linking on, but I've been playing tracks all night and haven't cached anything. I have the caching set to no and downloads set to no.

I just turned on the encryption mode so no one can see where the playlist is.

Check out the options Here .

That encryption looks pretty good...as far as preventing plucking from the page...but the XML is still there and veiwable Wink

If you delete your temp internet files, then visit your homepage then look in c:\documents*\yourusername\local*\temporary internet files...

you'll find mp3player.xml (this is probably the easiest way to show you what I mean anyways)...

Its just strange how the different players behave...

Sunlizzard -

how do you like using the jeroen player? It looks like a commercial registration is cheap, so I may pick it up for an alternate player for distribution with Jamroom. Let me know what you like/dislike about it.

Thanks!!

- Brian

Pros: Lots of cool skins, now accepts XSPF playlists, can play in shuffle mode

Cons: No scroll bar...if you have a lot of songs the list goes out of control when trying to locate a track.

Other then the big old space here on these lines that will break it:

Code
<filename>http://www.neworleansbands.net/music/stream.ph

p%3Fmode=song_hifi%26band_id=596%26song_id=1019%26ext=.m

p3</filename>

Push those together to make a continuous URL and it should work.

I'm trying to get wimpy to play on my front page and can't. The player shows but no songs play, I know I don't have the play list part right.

Code
"{$JAMROOM_URL}/include/flash/wimpy/wimpy.swf?playlist_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwebsite.com%2Fplay.php%3Fmode%3Dradio%26id%3D7%26type%3Dxspf%26autoload%3Dtrue%26info_button_text%3DVisit%2BUs"

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
