Just decided to start dabbling with the themes ........

Copied all the files in infrared2.0 to a new folder /jamroom/themes/newtheme
Made a few small changes to text size and colours etc, just to get a feel for things.
What now? In the admin, there's no install theme button (just Get Theme and Delete Theme), and 'newtheme' doesn't show up anywhere else.
Cheers
Pash

pash -

make sure you have the "config.cfg.php" file in the directory - without that file, Jamroom won't see the new theme. I just tested it on my dev server (copied jm_infrared_2.0 to newtheme) and it worked for me. You should see "Install Theme" in your Admin Menu.

Hope this helps!

Hi Brian
config.cfg.php is definately there, and I've now modified that file with a new theme name. Still only 'Get Themes' and 'Remove Theme' in the admin menu
Cheers

hmm... I'm not sure what it could be - I just tried it on my server here and it worked without issue. Maybe try logging out and loggnig back in? Also, make sure the config.cfg.php file si readable by the web user (i.e. make it at least 644 permissions, if it is not already). Also, make sure the theme directory is set up like the others, i.e. jamroom/themes/(theme_name)/(files).

Beyond that I don't know what could be causing the issue. It's actually a very simple process.

Pash -

one thing that could be keeping it from showing up is a syntax error in the config.cfg.php file - I'd recommend re-copying an existing config.cfg.php file from one of the Jamroom themes and seeing if that works (you don't need to modify anything - just don't actually install it). That way you can see if there is an error in your config.cfg.php file.

Hope this helps!

Trying again -
Deleted the 'newtheme' folder from the server, then copied jm_moss_1.0 and all its contents as NewTheme. Went into admin and still no option to install it.
Deleted an unused theme (jm_devel_1.0), just to see if I then get the option to re-install it, but no, still no install theme button. Tried logging out/in between every operation as well.
Also, if I now go to the Artist Menu (as admin), and click on HTML Themes (no artist selected), the 'remnants' of the Dev Theme 1.0 is still there, but without the 'Header' and 'Description' text, and no picture (just a little 'x').
Something must be corrupt do you reckon?
Cheers

PS - If you still have my Username and PW, feel free to have a look for yourself.

yes, I would say something has gotten a bit out of whack there. I don't have your username and PW anymore... if you PM it to me though I'll try to see what's going on. Thanks!
