there is a guy rapzilla on this board who seems to have implemented a script from paydownloadpal.com i've sent him a pm trying to find out about his experience with the script and if it is worth the hassle.

i know brian is working on a payment pack for JR but he seems to be extremely overloaded (perhaps a willing developer would donate some time to help him) i'm just a hack and piecing this all together as I go along, so i'm not the greatest resource from the programming side, but i am willing to try different options. although i have gotten some decent help so far in getting my JR instance up and running.

i think the paydownloadpal is an interesting option until the payment pack is released and fully tested. if you want to try to work on something together man let me know

just my thoughts on this.

BigGuy,

What are your thoughts on this.

I know it's important to some, that they have something implemented well before Chrismas. Question

You are of course free to implement whatever you would like.

I just send the Jamroom "subscriptions" part of the Payment Pack off to beta testers today. I won't give any time frame, as the last thing I want is people getting angry that I don't release when I say it should come out, but it is coming along well and is my number 1 priority at this point.

Just an FYI as well - I've been over A LOT of PayPal code in the last month, and I ended up writing the entire interface myself (instead of using a premade PayPal class - I couldn't use PayPals SOAP based class, as it has too many external dependencies), as every IPN script I found on the net had some very big holes in it.

Hope this helps!

- Brian

This is already supported now in the Jamroom Payment Pack - you get the Cobalt Flash player with the Buy Now option.

Hope this helps!

It's not running on the Jamroom Demo at this time, since I haven't been able to update it so it can run in a "demo mode". However, I just took a screenshot of the "large" and "small" Cobalt buy-now enabled flash players running on the Jamroom beta site:

http://www.jamroom.net/Cobalt_Flash_Buy_Now.png (large file)

You can see the "Buy Now" link in red - if clicked on, it adds the item to the users cart.

Hope this helps!

I have this setup on my test site if you would like to see it working. Song #7 in the list of songs in the players on this page is a song for sale.

http://www.lafire.net/jamroomtest/

You'll need to log into the site to see the whole process and I have a test account set up so you can do that with.

Thanks..........

Just an FYI, in case you didn't know, the Jamroom Flash player can be embedded in any page. I'm sure daddysylem could create a custom skin for you as well if you don't like the blue.

Hope this helps!
