i wanted to share this revamp of the "Cobalt" theme that comes standard with Jamroom, this is called "Monochrome". This includes the skin and artist theme and can be used separate from the "Cobalt" or you can offer the new theme for your artist's but run the Cobalt skin for your site, either way.

some small additions:

- view photos in "Gallery Mode", Sort By Newest and Sort By Top Rated
- More details on search results
- Quick Browse Artist option
- Moved side menu to left
- Some small hover photo "eyecandy"
- Added "New Artists" to front page
- Added ad.tpl to easy edit banners at the top of your site

UPDATED DOWNLOAD AND INFORMATION ON THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN POSTED HERE:

Noticed a few things, the comment/review system from the power pack uses the original cobalt skin on my test site.

When you were doing these themes did you also modify the power pack?

Maybe this is intentional but there is still a blue colour in the charts table.

Great work again.

yeah, it is sorta intentional LOL because i did not have enough artists in the demo that have songs to be charted so i can test/view the chart area.

i am also working on a slide show type of display for top artists, top songs, and upcoming events. that might be in my next download.

what do you think of that idea, here is a very basic example

http://demo.brainwaveradio.com/index.php?template=demo.tpl

that is not included in the download yet

Thats cool, however some won't like it so leave it easy for the code to be commented out or something like that.

Hey Chad - looks good - well done.

I've modified the theme bit to make it fully independent of the monochrome skin being installed. I've also fixed up all the popups etc where ther were still coming up as Cobalt. Also fixed all the other references to Cobalt in some of the templates.
Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll copy it to you.
Cheers
Pa

thanks PA.. I IM'd ya! i am still finding those areas in the theme that need to just be changed to {$SKIN_DIR} to make those changes easier going from here on out.

now i just put a "theme" changer option on the demo site so people can choose the skin css and see what is available in color options as i release more. but i screwed with so many <class> tags that I will need to rebuild that. LOL

thanks for your help and you too Dazzy!

thanks, for now if you use this theme/skin it will work great as long as you do not delete your Cobalt skin folder. there are a couple of areas that need to be fixed first, then you can remove the skin/Cobalt folder after that. I will post when this skin/theme is 100% standalone without the need of Cobalt.

thanks!

One more minor thing

In gallery view if you click on Gallery Mode the small navigation bar is no longer present to switch between views.

Only minor Smile

thanks! i noticed that too. i am actually thinking of getting rid of the dropdown menu and just replacing it with "home, charts, artists, songs, blogs, radio, gallery, community" and then doing side menus for each of those features that will have different views for that mode view. only because some people seem to be having issues with the dropdown menu depending on their browser and setting. i have done this with my site and people have responded well to that.

maybe a 3 column, main menu on the left and sub menu with links to order options on the right with the main content in the center?
