To use the New MediaPro Player Pack, you need to first be using the most Current version of MediaPro or have installed the MediaPro 2.0 Upgrade as it outlines in the "Instructions.txt" file that came with your Player Pack and as also stated in the Ad for the Players in the Marketplace. If you already meet these requirments, then those lines of code should already be installed in your "MediaPro.cfg" file and all you should have to do is confirm that the code is there to finish the install of the Player Pack.

But since the code is missing from your "MediaPro.cfg" file, it would indicate to me that your not using the most Current version of MediaPro or have the MediaPro 2.0 Upgrade installed.

The new players will not work properly without first meeting those requirments which also include Oinkba template modifications in the upgrade to support the new Player Packs.

Let me know.....

I installed
MediaPro Updates 28th March 2010 Jamroom v4.1.7 MediaPro_Updates_v2.1

before even downloading the new player.

Also some one correct me if I am wrong but MediaPro updates normally don't include or update MediaPro.cfg unless they specifically instruct you to edit portions of that file.

You need this update.........
MediaPro Updates 1st March 2010 Jamroom v4.1.7 MediaPro_Updates_v2.0(JRv4.1.7).zip
http://www.oinkba.com/updates

For some reason Huw doesn't doesn't include all previous updates in his latest update. So you won't get Version 2.0 Updates changes and templates in the Verson 2.1 Update. And you need all the template changes that were released in Version 2.0 for the players to work correctly.

But your right the Updates don't contain a MediaPro.cfg file, so when you download Version 2.0 and read the "READ_ME_FIRST.txt" you will see it instructs you to make the changes needed in your existing "MediaPro.cfg file"

Let me know if that helps....

Thanks.....

Greg,
Thanks for the response.
I went back and made all the MediaPro upgrades from version 1.9 all the way up to 2.1. I went that far because Huw had made all the upgrades for me end of last year till that version. I read all the "READ_ME_FIRST.txt" for all upgrades just to make sure I add all changes.

I found the necessary changes in Version 2.0 as you stated above. They are all in my MediaPro.cfg now.
Regenerated profiles as usual after changes.

Unfortunately the Flash player is not loading. Both Audio and Video. My users have uploaded both Windows and FLV videos. Right now windows Videso are still playing with no issues.

However FLV videos are not playing just a blank space. For Audio files when you click on one you see flash trying to load where the player is supposed to be but nothing happens after that.

I checked with Oinkba this morning but they told me to check with you first since issue is just with Flash and you are the Guru Smile

I have 3 workstations on my Desk Plus a laptop each with at least 3 different Browsers just to give you a picture of the environment I am testing in.

Again appreciate your help. Thanks

The only thing that should have to be done after the MediaPro.cfg issue,
Would be to upload the players to the correct directory and rebuild your artist themes.

Basically all the New Player Pack does is upload and overwrite your existing MediaPro Players and install a switch in your MediaPro.cfg file to use a special playlist file so that all the displays and functions in the players work correctly.

It sounds like something went wrong with the 2.0 Upgrade Templates.

Can you provide me with a link and I'll take a look???
I'm in California and I have to leave right now, but I'll check back later today.

Thanks,
Greg -

You just caught me before I left the office..... Smile

All of the flash players on your site are not being displayed. The template page code for them is there and correct, but the players are not showing up. I've seen this 3-Other times over the last week with sites where their hosting company has enacted new security protocols on their servers that kill the flash players from being displayed.

http://www.jamroom.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=35370

Check with your hosting company and have them check to see if they have enacted any new security protocols on your server.

I'm 90% sure thats your issue.......

let me know.

Greg,
Thanks for your help.
They fixed it. Whatever it was it is has been cleared.
The new players are working fine now.
Now that I see them on my site for the first time, I realize I probably chose the wrong color Sad
But that is ok, I can live with that since they are working Smile

Again thanks for your help
