Ok, cool Paul, thanks. Any idea when JR5 will be released?

Eddy

And how long is that piece of string? Wink
Seriously its difficult to be precise and things always take longer than expected.
We're all working hard on JR5 but we all also have other commitments that sometimes get in the way.
Also, beta is a time for finding bugs (or hopefully not) which is why its in your hands as well as ours.
So the more that are testing and reporting back here (not just bugs - we also want to know about installations that have been well exercised with no issues!!), the more we can predict a release date.

What I don't think has been mentioned anywhere yet is that JR5 comes with a rather cool image editing package, courtesy of aviary.com
Been playing with it here - http://demo.jamroomnetwork.com/demo/gallery/aviary
Try it out for yourselves on the demo site.

Glad you mentioned it - I haven't started porting it from jamroom4 yet. I'll give it a try.

Just about to update the demo site to the latest Beta3 release - http://www.jamroom.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=41834
Unfortunately, this means a complete re-install (see above link for reason) so those who have already registered on the site will need to do it again - sorry.
On this installation I'll enable the new jrComment module instead of jrDisqus so that you can see that in action instead.
Site will be down for an hour or so.
Pa

Done that - Demo site back online.
There is now a feed from the Jamroom Facebook site on the front page.
All RSS feeds easily managed and included in templates using the jrFeed module.

While trying to read on the demo site today under "Jamroom.net's Facebook Wall", the words keep moving up and down because the size of the picture above keeps changing. I assume that's not how you want it, it's pretty annoying. I'm using FF. Smile

You're right. Not by much but it is moving. Not happening in Safari though!!
OK - We'll look into it.
Thanks

I'm using Firefox here (on Mac) and don't see it - when the image changes the text in the feed stays in the exact same place. Did you replicate this Paul? Maybe it's only on Windows.

Thanks!

- Brian

There are no docs as yet, so the best place to start is by looking at the existing modules. Which ones to look at depends on the type of module you are wanting to build.

jrAudio and jrGallery are the best ones to look at for item creation.
