logo and cover images look like crap

on there i used the same logo /header images as i used on these 2 sites

note i have css animations that fade the transparency in and out
but if you save the images you see they are nice and clear
but when uploaded to jr into the skins images, or when added to the profile tweaks customization they just look like crap

i know the routter uses a compress everything ..could that be why


when looking at the image info on each they are 1/10th the file size of the originals
wich might be good for speed but they look like complete crap

being that the logo and cover image is kind of defining your look and the quality of your site these should be clear crisp high quality but ofcourse not be excessively large

if something cant be done about this ill have to create whole new logo and cover image that are extremely simplified to the point where quality wont matter

uniform pager?

blogs and activity on fron page have a pager with > and < which i made nicely styled buttons these seem coded into the templates ..well blogs uses something like page="$_post.p" or something .i think
but instead of coding the pager into the templates wouldnt it be better to use a pager template that all lists can use for a more uniform look

been trying for hours to figure out a way to make them all look alike

active in forum showing logged in, and visitors plus joins added to activity feed

Suggestions

the more active a forum looks the more likely people are going to want to join in on the discussions
if the "currently are active in this forum" thing at the bottom was updated to include both logged in users and logged out visitors , it just makes even a low to moderately active forum seem much more inviting

another thing that drasticly increases joinuing a site is seeing other people joining, the more they see joining the more likely they will join

on a day when theres no joins in the activity feed you are unlikly to get any or many joins, but as soon as 1 joins anothers sure to follow, and if they see 15 joins they are very likely to wantto join too
so the joins should pop to the top and show everyone that joined within 24 hours (show the 1st 3 names "and 12 others" joined)

every time that "x number joined" pops to the top you are highly likely to see 2 or 3 or more join very soon after

these 2 lil suggestions can go a very long way towards helping your community grow faster

fixed it
uncheck "enable categories" save recheck it and save and they auto corrected themselves

was just a hunch and it paid off

shops listing questions

cant figure out why songs arent listing do they only list if u uploadto files then add a price. no that cant be right cause when u add a price it does onlyplay a 1 minute sample..

also theres no template associated with jrfoxycart to list items
i wanted to use the received_purchase or whatever the event was to list products recently purchased but cant seem to figure out how
nor can i figure out how to list product categories and if i could and theres more then 1 product in a category list theproduct counts in the category (if that cant be done thats ok)

i am soooo close to havingt the perfect site i envisioned
bout 95% there

so far you have never said 'it cant be done" to anything i dreamed about so im thinking theres got to be a way ..

is there a way to get those counts to reset or update
i mean if theres a forum_catagory_post_count or something in the database would dropping or emptying the table get it to rebuild the data
ive donerepair and optimize on the database already as well as integrity check with all options selected

i know the ratings module has a tool to rebuild the ratings or was it the likes..i forget but 1 of those modules has a tool to recalculate the ratings or likes can something be added to recalculate the forum posts in each category

im about to mve everyting out of 2 or 3 categories and delete them so maybe that might help?

these arent on the main page they arein the forum list when view categories is set

but yesterday i posted a tip on how i created my front pAge forums list
u can do it in site builder or in thetemplate

assuming you wantto replace the 'groups discussions' in index.tpl i think it is simply find thAt list it would say somethinn

but cant guarantee that if you edit that block and use my list code and template it should work

if your willing to spend hours doing trial and error testing to get it to work that will help u learn how the codes all fit together

in the past 2 days ive made incredible progress onmine learned a whole lot ..but still unsure of afew things..but

actualy weird when i add 1 u get the 2 admin profilwes but 8 13 and 19 dont show the featured shop im going to create a couple more non featured shops and keep trying ..its odd it showed quota 1 not 19 but ill figure it out i think thnx



tye other thing tho is why arent songs listing
