they are looking into adding the wysiwyg editor to all textarea feilds i would hope that includes the notes

just a note however
if they dont..we can
it will take some figuringout but thats the beasuty of this you can edit the templates the code you can create yoir own modules to do what youneed it to do
your not stuck dependent on them to do every lil thing

though this is on theier todo list according to brian so ..not to worry

i agree tho its important
u can use bb tags like but not everones used tothem and its so much more convinient and user freindly to click a button

but evenwith that easy to add biutton u still have toexplain tye process of adding a pic to a post nearly daily

ok i can live with that

i hope you took my class notes as constructive and not a complaint i know in ways its a rough draft needing revisions and function comes before finesse

just im a creative type that wants to dive into perfecting the style before messing with the backend functions so that was holding me back from perfecting the look but i really should be working on the quatas and the function more anyway
its just thats what confuses me and the css styling thats where im in my confort zone

go to developer tools in tools
if you dont have that module..get it its a must have

its free
click tools, clone skin
give it a name
something unique but identifiable to the original skin

examples i cloned elastic into fantastalastic slate into greatslate and ning into ningbling

now in ftp its easy to find what css to play with
you enable the cloned skin so its active any edits to the templates are edits to the clone

so if you want to try something that your unsure of you can clone say ningbling to ningbling1 it will clone all ningblings edits alow u to edit ningbling1 if u screw up just enablwe ningbling agvain u can therefore keep a version history
only really worthwhile for major revisions i mean your not going to want a new clone everytime u change a element color or font size but if your making major template changes and want a safety backup just create a new version to work with

media conversion queue out of control issue

im taking part in the early beta stages of the ning to jamroom migration test and my sites by far the biggest being tested
i finaly got a completed import of all data after nearly a week
but then when i started the converyt media process i saw the queue going up and up..wich i expected butthe script bombed out with an unable to parse json file at coloum 1 line xxx error
at 1st it wouldhappen after several hundred files at least 400 and some maybe 1000 i didnt notice
onrestarting the conversion it started at the begining and not where it left off
each time i seemed to get that json parse error sooner and sooner tioll it was at 117 then 11 then 97 files in

so i stopped trying
now its been probably 1/2 hour or longer since the last try to run it
and the queue is still going up and up

i know theres roughly 8,900 songs about but it only got maybe 1,000 in at the max i think
the queues over 4,000 and rises about 15-20 every 60 sec refresh


i waited an hour about before posting just to see what would happen ..it went down slightly 1 refresh but the next was back to climbing and still is increasing

this is worrying me
page loads are fast again now that im not running the conversion script
but the queue length is still going up and up anbd up and will probably hit 4,000 by the time im done writing this

when i ran the script it would generate that json error at adiferent spot every time ..both in the json column (diferent charachter count or whateverr) as well as a diferent song coukld be 117 or 113 or last was 97
but i swear earlier it was getting up to 489 or so

the fact the queues still going up and the number it bombs out on seems to be going down...

i wonder...should i leave it be for several hours and see if it eventualy clears the queue
and if so should i run it till it bombs.. let the queue clear run it till it bombs..etc

but not sure ill ever get anywhere if it keeps restarting at 0


any help? afraid to try anything else

im trying to do the nedia conversion and i keep getting json errors
but heres the real issue
my queue depth is over 3,000
but everytime i get the error and have to start over it doesnt seem to sokip the ones in queue or already converted but starts at the begining
it gets to around the same place every time then stops

im not sure if its the exact same place ornot but around 117 sometimes more sometimes lessi think
so i have a feeling those 3,0000+ in queue are the same hundred and some over and over

is there anyone that can take a look at it besides paul

1st i figured ill put all my styling issues with the ning skin in 1 place then also i had some questions concerning the ning skin and my ad requirements

1st the styling i mentioned it in another post but ill put all my thoughts together here

1 theres a desperate need for unique classes added to many many elements there are far far too many things (nearly everything) that are just "item" class the front page nearly everytjings in a blog_item structure wether its a blog item or not
i havent looked through entirely but in the main sections the cloices are content block row item etc withoit any specifications on whatthe rows or items are

i know its ah early version just making sure your aware

now for ads
hows everyone handeling them in the template im definately using responsive code but cant seem to make em work in a sensible place..well in the header at least
i have 3 essential ad spaces and 1 other thing im considering
essential would be a responsive header and footer ad and 1 sidebar that would appear on every page thats a paid ad and that ad alone covers 3/4 of the server fees
its size is flexible i mean i can create a new 1 any size just not too small im usintg 300x250 on 2,0 and 300x600 on 3,0
im fifuring the 300x250 wiuld be best

but i guess my question is
whbere in the temolate aee u placing your header ad code (could an empty div be added to contain it or could an adsence module be developed/)
the sidebar ads not adsence i have my own adserver its a iframe with a refresh
ive also used css animation for the ad on 2.0 in the past..not sure im using it now
would css animation be supported cross platform on every device
or should i stick with the iframes ansd 50 sec refresh im using now

and..where should that go to be persistent assuming on front page it will have tbe right column and profiles left
and looks like disccussions is full width so no option to add it there

im thinking that a few built in ad space options are the best option/

oh and mty last ad like thing would be a slider on the shops listing page of featured shops shops that belong to a higher quota pay me a slightly higher percentage to be included in that slider
