ive gone on a serious custimizing trip just cause theres so much more we can do here then on ning

run into a couple lil issues but overall my members aere loving the site
and uber excited to move in

skin inyour cloned skin your working in or since u didnt clone in the profile_header.tpl of your skin



it doesnt solve the follow problem but makes the display absolutelyy perfect

agree strum you'll kiss me after u use my fix but it still doesnrt add the follow group activity

follow group activity is important but not on my list of must haves b4 going live
my must have list is alot shorter then i realized in fact

its a short list and getting shorter all the time

1 module search only works inside the module page itself and not on custom module lists
and not on seemless lists..i am looking into a 3rd party search option that wont break my site...and wont cost over a thousand dollars a month

2 photo titles still need to be straightened out.. closer but not there yet

3 was the group profile header... wich i fixed myself and posted a tip but .,.i and i know strum at least believe this should be the default and i think alot of other ning users may agree...moot ppint since i fixed mine but worth mentioning

i think that maybe it besides a few things i need to work out and fix myself

there are other imperfections still like the code window in the sitebuilder not accepting code at all (but its redundant since source code does the same thing..minus the code validation and line numbering)
(the validation is the problem as anything you input..no matter what it is is marked invalid)


the search issues really the biggest issue

the photo issue ..is important too but should be an easy fix

@paul if you want to discuss this i can explain exactly what needs changing.. but i also posted a add photo vs add gallery post that explains it as well as another fairly important recomendation
however the search in custom lists is by far the biggest thing holding me back

oh and forgot that i still dont see digital stufff like music in my for sale shops site lists

i might add a if price > 0 type thing into a template and try seemless for all digital modules with a setable price
but i imagine each has its own like audio_price
if there was a core defined _price that would work well...but im off track now
search and photo titles..as soon as i find a fix for them and do a couple minor page improvements im good to go live

module search and order by ratings on multi-module seamless lists

well i think your rating idea will work about to try that but i think you misunderstood what i need here
not a way to list all items with xxx in the title
but a way to use the module search function to search multiple modules with multiple simular feilds

instead ofr that wich only works if its directly in the module itself not on a custom page created listing featured blogs highhest rated blogs and newest blogs
and especialy not in a seemless page with 3 modules

with the side builders flexibility a new searchy options needed


this way jr module search searches all 3 modules for the feilds simular to video_title or youtube_title or _vimeo _title etc

and resturns the results on that page

this way when we build our page with 3 lists from 1 module or 3 lists from 3 modules combined we can simply insert a row above the rest with our search code and it searches all and returns the results in that row above our lists

ok its working within gallery but heres the issue

we need a lil more advanced search options with the site builder

we need a function like instead of we need something that can specify the module or modules to search like

so the module search can specify the module ..or multiple modules you want searched and use wildcards for form fields .... or "like" fields= like text title description so it includes anything thats simular within each module being searched


just as a test i am going to try specifying the module to search and see if it works

i dont think multiple modules will in seemless lists
ctualy kinda remember paul offering a solution and i was too tired to try it so ill look for that too

i am not seeing it
investigating code to see if my css is interfering but im not seeing it im assumming it should be in the form of a lil trash can icon appearing on hover or a lil x wait a sec just realized i most likely hovered over my own activity and it might not apear on your own..
nope nothing on others actions either


i agree its important on ning we sometimes get the 'ghana dating scam" type who posts 100 profile comments "hi i saw your profile and became interested in you" things
banning them will delete the comments..and the activity feed references... eventualy but can take 5-25 minutes and there were times it just didnt delete them so id have to click the plus signs to remove each from the activity

there were also times someone butthurt over getting good advice when they only wanted to hear the bad things they were doing were ok and theyd post a nasty status update before leaving just to cause trouble so id often delete those (and in cases when they were real nasty help them leave a lil quicker)
