DNS is now pointing properly ... but I now cannot log in

Ning To Jamroom

Messed up. It looks like the system is regenerating some cache files in the time it takes my FTP client to delete them.

I am trying to delete them using cPanel, too -- and the folder are like zombies. Delete them and they pop up again right away.

DNS is now pointing properly ... but I now cannot log in

Ning To Jamroom

I cleared the caches and updated config.php.

I did not update the www record so I am visiting http://thechocolatelife.com.

Click on Login

Enter username and password,

get the following system level JR error:

a system level error was encountered trying to validate the form values: error:

I did a system check (all green) ran the integrity check and cleared caches and still the same error trying to log in.

I changed config.php back (thechocolatelife.info/thechocolatelife) so I can work on the site until I can figure out the login problem. I also updated the www. record but that's going to take a while to propagate.

DNS is now pointed properly - but cannot log in

Ning To Jamroom

i've reset caches manually (FTP) and updated config.php to rebase the URLs properly, But was getting a 404 on the new home page.

Turns out the issue is going to www.thechocolatelife.com. I can make things work on http://thechocolatelife.com. So my guess is I need to create a www record in my DNS for this. Do I make it to:

thechocolatelife.info/thechocolatelife/

or

thechocolatelife.com ??

I did edit config.php and the URL is http://thechocolatelife.com (no closing slash)

However - now I cannot log in. Upon submit of my (valid) credentials, I get the following error against an orange background:

a system level error was encountered trying to validate the form values: error:

Selling digital downloads for fun and profit

Ning To Jamroom

Just confirming ...

I can use FoxyCart to create a premium membership level where the Quota config includes the File Downloads module as well as the PayPal module.

I make money by selling the subscription and my members make money on the downloads they sell. I get the revenue from FoxyCart and my members get 100% (less fees) from what they sell via their PayPal accounts.

This is the only combination if I want to make some money off my members' selling stuff.

where are my "stand alone" pages going

Ning To Jamroom

In the Profile Groups module is a tool to decide where pages go.

http://www.domainname.tld/group_page/group_config

You can assign pages to a group or to a stand-alone page. Stand-alone pages end up appearing in your profile, IIRC, so I would look there.

Renaming Profile Badges

Ning To Jamroom

I don't have any Artists, DJs, Producers, or VIP members in TheChocolateLife community. I know I can change the badge graphics ... but I want to rename the badges to something more suitable for my community and delete the ones that don't apply so that they cannot be picked.

I don't see any means to do this other than directly in the database which I am reluctant to do.

Missing Home Page About Blog entry - just disappeared from db

Ning To Jamroom

JR folk -- I think I may know what happened.

I ACCIDENTALLY clicked on the trash can icon for the blog post.
It threw up an "Are Your Sure?" dialog and I clicked on the button that said, NO, please do NOT delete this blog.

And the post disappeared.

Missing Home Page About Blog entry - just disappeared from db

Ning To Jamroom

I saw the developer mode thing as well. I had turned it off a couple of days ago. I asked Paul to take a look at some things and he may have turned it back on.

Turning it back off did not solve the problem of the missing blog entry, however.

@strumelia

You can get to the important stuff from within JR right now. Just go to the user account browser. Username and email address - searchable from within JR. I have already used this feature at the request of a member waiting for me to bring the site back online.

What I was looking for was the name of an existing database field.

What I would like, because this is not something I do very often and I never need to look at more than one person at a time, would be to have a "Detail" view when I select "Modify" a member record (Profile or Account). This would show everything that's in the member's record right there. If there were a way to modify some things then that would be huge as well.
