Page break not breaking

Ning To Jamroom

Let me reinsert the page break -- I took it out when it wasn't working.

And, obviously, you don't want to parse the pagebreak when displaying the actual blog post.

Parse on the home page, not here > > >

Changed a left padding value in header.css and now can't see ACP tabs.

Then do an ACP -> Reset Caches and it should work.

I am in developer mode and caching has been disabled. Should I still do the reset caches?

After deleting a discussion, getting returned to the wrong page

Ning To Jamroom

@Brian -

I don't want to hijack this thread by going into a discussion about my challenges as a coder. The issue of where the user is taken after deleting a discussion is what' I want to return to.

When you know what the changes are in the skin please let me know and I will be happy to test them before they get put into a skin update.

ACP Skin editor state getting lost in Untagged

Ning To Jamroom

When editing a Style in the ACP in the Color and Font, Padding and Margins, and Advanced tabs when I save changes the current tab is displayed on refresh.

When editing in the Untagged tab and save changes, the tab state is not saved and I am returned to the Color and Font tab.

I would think the behavior would be consistent with saving changes in the other tabs.

Yes. It is #main_logo that I want to work on. The overall header is too short for my taste. I want it to be 140px overall. I will insert a modified version of my logo about 130px tall that fades to the background color of the header (#222222 IIRC).

One other thing that is weird here is that the nav menu has lost its right alignment.

There's another discussion where I talk about the header.css. In order to be able to display the tabs so I could select the correct .css file I had to change some of the CSS in order to reduce the size of the header. I needed to reset some values by directly editing the CSS files and reloading the page.

Page break not breaking

Ning To Jamroom

@Brian:

There are three ways that I can think of right now to handle this functionality.

One - Click on 'Read More' and push down the DOM. That's okay as long as there is a 'Read Less' button at the bottom.

Two - Duplicate the behavior of clicking on 'Read More' in the blog section - which is to go to that blog post.

Three - Lightbox the text of the entire blog post.

For the sake of UI consistency I would say approach #2 is best. However, because the 'About' is a "special" blog post, approaches #2 or #3 are fine - as long as there is a way to collapse the DOM in #2 and the lightbox window in #3 has a close button and can be dismissed by pressing ESC.

To make things a lot simpler, assume that there will be only a single in the text.

Yes. I saw the comment but I know that most content gets parsed as it gets rendered [e.g., shortcodes that get evaluated] so I figured that there could be a process that looks for pagebreaks

Down in the Blog area there is a "Read More" button. I have to assume that that gets done programmatically. I'd be happy to do it manually if that's the only way.

Share with whom? There is a Share This module - not free but $9 - that enables sharing to FB and other social media sites.

There is also a Disqus module that - from reading the docs - should enable you to add Disqus comments.

I am confident that pagination is possible on your forum is possible given that it's turned on for this forum.

Finally, I am using the solver functionality not just to indicate solutions have been presented but also to alert people that the conversation might be interesting, or insightful, or even self-promotion.

There is a pagebreak in the text of my About ... on the home page, but it's not breaking. It's right after the word Christmas.

I wanted to see about moving the logo left. Changed value from 12px to 0px and now I can no longer see the tabs.

Looking through the CSS files through cPanel and changing values manually in header.css does not revert the change.

Looking in /skins/jrNingja-release-1.0.11/css/header.css

I am kinda baffled as to which/where the the CSS value I changed is.

Nothing I can do until I figure out a way to reset this.
