Time Map error

Genosis

Hi Douglas,

I just did (installed & uploaded GeoLiteCity.dat), but I have the same results.
Is jrGeo needed by Genosis/TimeMap ? I missed this requirement.

Time Map error

Genosis

Hi,

First, when I go to the Time Map, I get an "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected identifier" in the console, because of the following message embedded in the TimeMap.init datasets (missing quotes are raising the error) : "There are no profiles to create a Time Map from! (ensure you have run the initialization tool to create the correct map info)".

I assume that the initialization tool is the "Validate Events" tool in Time Map admin panel ? When I run it, I get "no results for location: ..." for every location, even if they are correctly named (city, state, country). Activity log indicates "Unable to get geocode info for ... events". As I assume that it populate geo data by name, do you know what could be the issue here ?

Finally, as all the locations in my database (wich have been imported from gramps) have already correct latitude and longitude information, shouldn't these be used directly and avoid this validation step ?

Thanks for your help, and your awesome work.

GEDCOM import

Genosis

Hi,

I confirm that the last release fixes this GEDCOM import issue.

This problem is solved, thanks.

No sprite_icons, template images

Genosis

Hi again. For the records I still didn't found any solution for this probably "moving-writing-files" issue. The permissions of every directory/files (in data & else) have sufficient permissions (above 705, tried up to 755).

A new issue probably related :
- I can't update a module. A message say "Corrupted update file recieved - md5 checksum mismatch". To see if it's triggered when the file cannot be written.

But the missing sprites and the fact that I'm able to upload/change any other file than the background isn't a clue that it may be something more than a permission issue ?

Thanks !

No sprite_icons, template images

Genosis

Hi again,

Here are three bugs that I found in the meantime of my main issue with the import of GEDCOM.

- All the sprite_icon of the action links (block_config) are missing.
I can see that the generated stylesheet is returned empty (ex. core/icon_css/30?_v=1431265652).

- I cannot change the skin background by uploading a custom wood.jpg.
The image is correctly uploaded, but the old one is still used. I'm able to do it for everything else tough.

- I cannot upload an additional image, either in the skin or modules.
The new custom image row is added, but the link is broken (no preview, no image name in template tag) and I cannot delete it (Invalid image name - please try again).

Regards

GEDCOM import

Genosis

Hi again, I'm writing that here for the record.

After a bit more testing, I've been able to go a bit further.
I've been able to bypass the invalid import tree_id by creating a new tree. It seems to depend on the session too (first apparition of the error after a day without login, I got different results by logout/login today, or related to the tree_default got in jrGenCore_get_active_tree_id ? ).

Anyway, I'm now facing the original Import a GEDCOM File to the active tree that never ends. And it seems to be related to the GEDCOM file/parser, because it works with the following sample :
http://microformats.org/wiki/GEDCOM_Worked_example

I'm sending you one of the failing GEDCOM by mail.

Thanks for your support.

GEDCOM import

Genosis

Hi again !

This is strange but even if I didn't do anything in the meantime, the issue is different today.
When using the import tool, the action stops now with the error :

errors were encountered importing the GEDCOM file
invalid import tree_id - please try again

I tried with several GEDCOM that have been tested elsewhere, and nothing is displayed in the logs.

That's irritating, because I'm more and more eager to try it.

GEDCOM import

Genosis

I have two lines from a few hours ago, but as I tried the import a lot more until a few minutes I suspect that it should be relative to the export bug related above.

GEDCOM import

Genosis

You're right, if I get it there is a limitation to 755 permission max, 777 are forbidden. I just discovered that. But I didn't get any problem with move_uploaded_file before... (there is several other cms installed on the same host).
