Where Do I find how to:

Using Jamroom

You might check out the docs: https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation

If there isn't information there that your looking for, let us know, we are constantly adding to the docs.

Cache is something you really should be familiar with. It basically stores information that makes pages load quicker. Basically Clearing or Resetting your cache will allow pages to be rebuilt with the latest data.

Smarty is what Jamroom templates use to add content. Here is a link to the docs for smarty:

http://www.smarty.net/docs/en/

HTML is basic web page coding language. This site is good for learning the basics:

Feel free to post here on the forums if should run into anything that you need help with. That is what it is here for and there are a lot of users willing to lend a hand. ;)

Thanks!

Where Do I find how to:

Using Jamroom

Hello Don,

You should also be able to do this as @strumelia has explained. Once you've uploaded your new image, make sure to check the "Active" check box and then save your changes and reset your cache.

I've already done this for you and your new image is showing.

Also note that you can not use smarty code in the Ad fields of the Skin Settings. It needs to be regular HTML code.

Hope this helps! :)

Google Issues

Using Jamroom

The sitemap URL should be thenewstalkers.com/sitemap.xml

The google Tracking ID your entering, is it the one from your Google Analytics account?

You may want to login to your Google Analytics account and make sure you have the correct Tracking ID. You can find it by going to your Admin > Property > Property Settings.

How can I remove the "site closed for maintenance sign"?

Using Jamroom

The maintenance mode message can be found in your ACP > Core > Global Config tab. That is also where you'll find the checkbox to turn maintenance mode off/on.

Google Issues

Using Jamroom

What URL did you use for the sitemap and did you generate a sitemap for your site using the ACP > Tools > Sitemap Generator?

Also, what Google key are you entering and where are you adding it?

Thanks!

Ning To Jamroom

soaringeagle:
yea a absolute nightmare to try to get it right

That is why I suggested a dev site, so you can get it right without shutting down or messing up your live site. In fact with a site like yours, with all the users you have, I would have a dev site for all design work and testing.

Emergency: Site Down Showing Database Error

Installation and Configuration

Upgrading should not effect your skin as long as you've renamed it to something other than the default JR4 skins. If you haven't, don't upload the skins templates (if there are any) from the latest version.

I don't believe you'll be able to use the settings.php file from 4.3.1 in your 4.2.4 install.

Hope this helps!

Change a member's location for them?

Using Jamroom

There is a profile_location and a user_location field in both the modify profile and modify user account. The profile_location field is not active, so it won't show on any profile modify screen. The user account user_location field is set to show only to your member quota.

You can change this by going to your modify account page, click the form designer button and modify the user_location field, then select the (Group)Normal Users in the Display Groups selection, or hold down the ctrl key and select multiple quotas.

Hope this helps!
