Jamroom forum not sending notifications

Using Jamroom

If I go to a thread I started, I see the follow icon is yellow.
Yeah it's kinda sad. My forum is completely dead quiet, without any activity :(

Jamroom forum not sending notifications

Using Jamroom

A new post should trigger an email notification to those subscribed to the category/post. These are the specific emails that stop being sent when I moved my server.

* do the settings at ACP -> MODULES -> COMMUNICATION -> EMAIL SUPPORT -> GLOBAL CONFIG line up correctly, eg: is the ACTIVE EMAIL SYSTEM set to "Mailgun Email API"?
- This has the same settings as when I was hosted. Which was system default SMTP with the Delivery Setting having all the details on my local mail server. I changed it to Mailgun API which works too as seen by test email.

* if you go to ACP -> COMMUNICATION -> EMAIL SUPPORT -> TEST EMAIL what happens?
It works, both with the default local SMTP and mailgun.

* are the settings at ACP -> COMMUNICATION -> MAILGUN API -> GLOBAL CONFIG correct?
Yes. they didn't change when I moved.

Sooooo weird! Email works. But forum is not triggering them?

Can I edit the url for my forum category?

Using Jamroom

Thanks Michael. But my question is about a forum category, not a forum post.

In my forums, if the "title" of Category is changed, the url is changes as well. So in our example, if the category "Using Jamroom" was renamed to "Fun Times With Jamroom", the url would change to .../forum/fun-times-with-jamroom/63550.

Or at least, that's what happens when I try this.

So I'm trying to work around the situation where renaming a category changes all the posts in that location to a new url (thus making google super unhappy, 404-wise).

Would it work for me to edit the category in the database? I would keep the url but rename the Title to something else in the table jr_jrforum_category. I just don't want to break anything that might be relying on this field.

Thanks!
Elise

Can I edit the url for my forum category?

Using Jamroom

I'd like to decouple a forum's category title (change it) from the url (keep it the same).
If I edit jr_jrforum_category.cat_title_url will bad things happen?
Is it always necessary for the title and the slug are the same?

Thanks!

Jamroom forum not sending notifications

Using Jamroom

I moved from Jamroom hosted to self-hosted in January. I just realized today that on that day, all the user notifications of new topics stopped.

There is no error in Mailgun. The DNS remained the same. All the checkmarks are green.
This is the delivery log. Jamroom just stops sending messages?

How can I figure out what happened?

Unable To Process Your Request Error on self hosted Jamroom

Using Jamroom

I don't see the problem anymore. Will post back if it re-occurs.
Btw, this was happening in the area where Jamroom counts the number of users online + guests.

Thanks!

Unable To Process Your Request Error on self hosted Jamroom

Using Jamroom

Hi,
I moved to a self hosted setup and I am getting this error. It looks like Jamroom is trying to use more db connections than what I have available. The server has 30 connections.
PS: This is shared hosting and I am not wanting to upgrade the plan.

Is there a parameter somewhere in Jamroom I can change to limit the number of connections? I know it will be slower but at least the page would load?

Unable To Process Your Request
The system has encountered an unrecoverable database error:
Error #1203: User xxx already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections
