This isn't a standard Jamroom feature but was hardcoded in your Comment module's item_list.tpl template.
Checkout line 66 of the template. It's currently set to 600 seconds (ten minutes).

Sounds like you are sorted then, but am still confused as you said the checkbox showed in the signup form. I'd like to replicate this as I don't think it should be happening. Can you confirm that is what you had, and what settings made it happen?

So you are seeing an 'Add to Timeline' option on signup forms? I'm not seeing this. I'm also not seeing it on your site signup form either. Can you point me to where this is happening?

Ten items is the default limit value. If you want 'all' songs set a limit value to a suitably high value in that call -

Both the password fields should be 'required' and 'active' so if you are not seeing that, then yes, make them so.

Check the quota settings of the Comment module to make sure its not been disabled for that profile.
Also check the skin settings. Some of them have the option to turn profile comments on or off.
