Network Hosts

Using Jamroom

Hi Deb - Open a ticket with your admin login and I'll take a look. Also let me have a couple of 'old' 'network hosts' for me to compare with 'Dani'.

Problem with events all listing

Using Jamroom

Quote:That having been said might I ask if you have had any luck with the Google Maps module? All I can get is messages to the effect that my api key is no good. I've tried a dozen times with new keys but to no avail.
I'm using Steve's Google Maps module on one of my sites and I do recall having similar issues. Have just looked and I do not have a key entered and it still works ok. Have you tried it without a key?

Network Hosts

Using Jamroom

Are you talking about 'moderators' or 'admin users'? If so, have they been made 'Profile Admins' in their user account settings?

Seeking a quote to do some customization

Design and Skin Customization

What is your current site? Can you outline what you wanted doing? It might be straightforward.

Nice tweak to help keep administrators out of private areas

Using Jamroom

Strumelia:Are you saying it keeps out "Profile Admins" (I call them moderators) from the dashboard access?

Yes - Perrie specifically wanted that. If anyone else wants this let me know - I now have a very simple custom module to do this.

Nameservers?

Jamroom Hosting

Checkout the hosting documentation here - http://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/jamroom-hosting

Your nameservers are where you have registered the domain, so login there and in their control panel you'll be able to set the domain nameservers to point to ns1.linode.com etc.
Hope that helps

Install on Localhost / WAMP

Installation and Configuration

Jamroom will not run on a Windows server so your local PC would need to be Linux based. Far quicker to checkout Jamroom by spinning up a server with a week's free trial on our hosting - http://Jamroom.net/hosting
Hope that helps

Query Error: Table 'bluemrec_jam516.jr_jrlogwatch_rule' doesn't exist

Installation and Configuration

Glad you are sorted.

Quote:The new dedicated server I have designed from scratch, so goes to demonstrate the importance of running Jamroom on a dedicated system, where you can control resources, instead of shared hosting.
Jamroom is designed to, and does run on most servers and hosting plans. See the system requirements here - https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/getting-started/774/requirements
However, there will always be hosts that have a setting on their servers that might create an issue for JR and often, when brought to their attention, they will correct it.

Alternatively, checkout Jamroom's own hosting plans. Our servers are specifically setup to run JR fast and error free - https://www.jamroom.net/hosting

Discussions closing after 30 days

Installation and Configuration

hypnoscott:thank you very much. I'm confused and grateful. I'd rather have 800 working discussions than 1000 discussions that can only be accessed 30 or so at a time.

Much appreciated.

Is this a different question? One issue per thread helps us and others :-)

So you want more than 30 topics/posts listed per page? Please clarify.

Quote:the like/dislike thing still won't show who liked a post. when you click the number next to the upvote button it darkens the screen but doesn't display anything
This is a custom CSS thing. I temporarily switched your site to the stock Elastic skin and it works fine, so something custom that you have done to the CSS and/or skin templates is messing things up.

site no longer sends emails

Installation and Configuration

Do test emails from the Email module work? Maybe temporarily set the email system to 'debug log' and send a test email from the email module. See if it gets into the log.
