The UrlScan module will only show players and images of local (already uploaded) media. Any external links in any text will just go to that link (in a new browser tab/window).

There shouldn't be a delay before user notification changes take effect.
Have you checked the accounts of the users who say they have disabled them to make sure they have actually done it?

Zach - This is a profile forum belonging to the profile "the-jamroom-network". You can post to it and its not showing on your profile page here - https://www.jamroom.net/zachary-moonshine
In the Forum module quota settings you can disable profile forums but still allow users to post to other forums, which is how this site is set up.

http://creators.ning.com/members/Strumelia is still there but all the threads just have a cryptic "This post has been deleted" instead of your posts, which makes a nonsense of the thread because specific replies to what you said are still there!!

That is the best plan. Get your domain and Mailgun working then use the tool to send all emails. Other Ning migrants have done this without issue.
